Bun Me Up

We recently had Bun Me Up cater our son's birthday party, and it was an incredible experience from start to finish! The buns were absolutely delicious--each one perfectly flavored and paired with their amazing special sauce, which was a huge hit. All the other dishes were just as popular, and our guests couldn't stop raving about how unique and delicious everything was, with many saying they'd never had anything like it before.Josh worked closely with me throughout the planning process, going back and forth to create the perfect menu and ensuring we had just the right amount of food for our guests. His attention to detail and flexibility in accommodating changes to the guest count made the entire experience so easy and stress-free. He even took care of specific dietary restrictions, which was a huge plus!On the day of the party, Josh and his fantastic team handled everything seamlessly. The setup and cleanup were quick and handled entirely by them. They thoughtfully arranged each dish in chafing dishes with black linens, making everything look amazing. Their professionalism and attention to detail allowed us to fully enjoy the celebration without worrying about a thing.We couldn't be happier with the experience and will absolutely use Bun Me Up again for future events. We're already missing the food and can't wait for the next occasion to work with them!

I've been wanting to try these buns for so long and I was so disappointed :(I ordered the pork belly buns at Tiki Pete's. The pork belly was both dry and greasy, the vegetables were not fresh, and the pickling medium had way too much sugar to vinegar. I also just felt bleh after eating them. Logistics:- I ordered these as the food option in the downtown SJ Tiki Pete bar, though it looks like they cater as well. I arrived as soon as the bar opened *at 6* to avoid the bar crowds. - indoor seating only - near paid public parking garages and lots of transit options - there is a vegetarian bao bun

Food is really good! Ive tried all their bun flavors before and I think the chicken one is my favorite, the fried garlic on top is the best part. Close runner ups for me are the beef and the shoyu pork. The tofu is also surprisingly good and better than what I expected, its really crispy and flavorful. The pickled vegetables are so good!! I usually dont like onions but the pickled ones here are yummyI like the signage of the store and the names and captions on the menu are really fun to read.

We got lunch catered to work. It was a spicy chicken bowl with some sort of peppers, rice, and pickled onions. Overall very good.I also was able to try their impossible meat with some sort of bbq sauce and spinach.Others got some sort of kimbap inspired beef bowl. After trying all of these, I thought they were good but eventually all tasted the same in the sense that the rice was all the same flavor and the seasonings were the same base. I'd consider going here to try the pork belly or buns but I don't think I would say the bowls were "addictive" hence 4*.

We used Bun Me Up for one of our catering events at SJSU and they were a hit! The students were huge fans of rolled tofu and in fact, that was eaten more than the other tasty option, soy garlic chicken. From what we saw, both options were popular fillings and the fresh toppings really brought the entire bun together. They offer dairy free buns as well if you need to cater to lactose intolerance. Joshua was very good at communicating throughout the entire process and showed up right on time for delivery as well. Highly recommend!

Haven't had such fluffy buns filled with succulent and flavorful cuts of meat in a while. A friend and I tried their Braised Pork belly Buns, Shoyu Pork Buns, Shaking Beef Buns, crispy tofu buns, Angry bird bowl (off-menu), and mango lassi. Most everything was great, especially the braised pork belly and shoyu pork buns. The tender soy marinated cuts of pork really hit the spot, and I loved the ají verde sauce that came w the shoyu pork bun. The shaking beef reminded me of the sweet and savory korean bbq meats, and the crispy tofu bun had a hickory bbq flavor. I really enjoyed the angry bird bow! It's an off menu item with aromatic fried rice and spicy sautéed chicken. So good! Mango Lassi was a nice smoothie to wash it all downOur host was very kind and informative. The business is run by young chefs and they seem very honest and open to advice! Bun Me Up is located in the Tiki Pete Bar, good music and great place to chill at night.

I'm always nervous about trying places that are pop ups inside of other establishments, but I saw this spot featured on SJ restaurant week and as a lover of Vietnamese food I was convinced to give it a shot.The portion size of the Brazilian chicken plate was generous and the smell of the meat certainly got the dog excited on the way home. I liked how balanced the bowl was with the rice, beans, onions, and a very generous helping of meat. One thing I will say is that everything in the bowl is very spicy! We split the plate between two people and neither of us could finish our portions. I trust that this spot knows how to make their meat and serves up delicious food, but I would opt for something different on my next visit.The pickup experience was fast and straightforward, I stood around for a minute before realizing I had to press the button for someone to come assist me at the counter. Hopefully I get to try some other items on their menu before they pack up and move on to their next location!

Wicked good. I actually ate these Bao at foodieland at the fair ground rather than in Downtown SJ, and it was the best thing there out of 180Vendors. Haven't been able to make it in to Tiki Pete's since the hours are so limited. Open earlier or stay open later so I can come by before or after the Sharks game! Love you!

We ordered catering service for our child's first birthday party. Josh was great in preparing food for both kids and adults. Everyone who tried the food commented on how great it tasted. The sauces and meat quality were top notch and we'll be sure to order again for events in the future!
