Such a lovely mom & pop korean restaurant! We stumbled upon this place while visiting the bay area. This is the perfect fulfilling, nutritious, and yet affordable korean food place you can visit near the milpitas area! We got the Bibimbap w/ fresh tofu, and it comes with purple rice (my fav!!). The bowl is so gorgeous with plenty of veggies and a side of gochujang & banchan making it such a heartwarming meal! We'll definitely come back again the next time we're in the area. Would highly recommend!!

Close to east side san jose, one of the few Korean restaurants in that area, Bigspoon is a family friendly Korean restaurant with a very nice aunty who serves food.Parking is plenty in the back. They have great side dishes and will refill upon request and a variety of korean homey dishesThis place gives off a homey vibe where its nice chill, and it feels like your sitting at home eating a nice meal with friends or family. They are known for their soup dishes which are huge and have good value and taste for their price. They also have cheesy tonkatsu that is instagram worthy Overall great place for good korean food.

pretty nice and new korean spot in the east side of san jose. parking is straight forward and it seems every car in that lot is here for this restaurant lol. my table ordered kimchi fried rice with pork belly, tteokbokki and the cheese tonkatsu. every thing was seasoned well and we all agreed we'd come back for the food. it sucks that it's pretty small inside and only fits about 10 or so tables. it is a newer spot so they can seem understaffed at times as there's only one person taking orders and another cleaning tables but we got everything pretty quickly and they even refilled some of the banchan without us having to ask. some cons is that they don't have any type of waitlist or even a clipboard where you can put your party size it's more of a who they see waiting and will accommodate first. thankfully my table got sat before they flipped their open sign to closed and wasn't taking anymore groups once they did that though they shut the front door and it began to get pretty warm and stuffy inside. we ordered immediately since we decided what we would get while we were waiting but the biggest con was that the woman working the register lowkey made a comment to me and my friend that we were taking too long and that she was waiting for us to pay/leave while there were three other tables still eating. funny thing is we got our food at 2:55 and got to go boxes/paid at 3:28 mind you they close at 4pm so we were only seated for 33 mins which is crazyyyy lol

My first impression walking into this restaurant was that it felt really home-y. Almost like walking into someone's house. We were given 8 side dishes and they each tasted amazing. Even though I didn't ask for a refill on sides, I saw others getting refills, so you can get free refills here. Service was great and I was amazed since only one lady was taking orders/bringing everything out. They offer a combo that comes with your choice of soup and meat for $30.99. Such a good deal!Spicy Ricecakes: Flavor was good and it wasn't too spicy. The texture of the ricecakes was perfect and it was loaded with fishcake. The three pieces of mandu on top was a great addition too.Beef Tofu Soup: Good flavor and was loaded with beef. I love the big chunks of tofu and the egg was already put into the soup as well.BBQ Beef Short Ribs: So tender!!! Flavor was amazing too. You cannot make this any better.

Came here for some nice hot soup and stews! Today is Presidents' Day on a Monday and we got here around 7pm. It wasn't crowded at all and we got seats right away. There is an old cute lady serving! :3The inside look like your typical Korean restaurant and gives cozy vibes! * Soft tofu stew combo (beef & seafood): My mom got this with level 1 spicy so mild. She said it was a bit spicy for her still but it was good. However, she said she has had better soft tofu stews because other places had more seafood in jt like whole shrimps and stuff. * Beef short rib soup (galbi tang): It was piping hot which I loved! There were a good amount of beef short ribs in there with green onions and glass noodles. The soup was flavorful, hearty and a good amount of salt. It wasn't my favorite galbi tang I had but it was good enough! I love how much different side dishes they give you! The server is so sweet and continued to check if we wanted a refill when she saw some were empty because we kept eating it.I would come again to try their other dishes!

My fiance and I came for lunch and I was pleasantly surprised by this place! The server was really attentive, even after the place got busy. We did two of the tofu soup lunch specials which was an awesome deal in my opinion. We both had beef tofu soup, pork belly, and short rib (extra $4) The portions were generous. The food was just so delicious! The short rib was tender and juicy. I don't normally care for tofu soup in general but I really enjoyed this tofu soup!Very filling lunch for less than $50 for 2! I definitely want to come back to try more of the menu!

the service here was nice and accommodating!!! i think they're understaff at the moment so the owner did the best she could with serving multiple tables at once and i heavily appreciate that!!the restaurant was on the smaller side but it was giving cozy vibes!! i also love the pictures on the menu which was helpful for visualizing the food but there was so many delicious options it was hard to decide. we got the appetizer spicy ricecake!! and the portions was huge!!! the ricecakes were soft and chewy!! i got the cheese tonkatsu which was also huge in portion side!! the food was delicious here and we had enough for lunch the next day!

We were lucky to find a spot on the street right in front of the restaurant to park so I'm not sure if there's any parking lot behind the place or nearby because there doesn't seem to be much space anywhere to otherwise. The kimchi pancake is the best I've had so far with the texture and taste. A lot of places are either too doughy or dry but this one actually has the same texture as a sweet pancake but just salty and spicy from the kimchi. It comes with a dipping sauce that's fairly sweet and salty with daikon slices in it.The sweet potato cheese tonkatsu is such an interesting dish! It comes with finely shredded cabbage with some kind of thousand island dressing.Everything else was delicious too. Bibimbap comes with purple rice.

We came on a Sunday night at around 7pm. There was a lot of parking in the back and a quick walk to the entrance. Inside, all of the tables were full but we were able to get one without a wait. The restaurant itself was small but clean. We ordered:Garlic & Chili chicken - 5/10 average, nothing mind blowing.Soy Chicken - 5/10 same as the garlic & chili, average.Kimchi fried rice with pork belly and cheese - 8/10 very flavorful but the portion was pretty small. Spicy pork bibimbap - 7/10 averageThe service was only mediocre. We received 7 side dishes but other tables had 9. All of the side dishes tasted very authentic and flavorful. Probably the best side dishes I've had compared to any other Korean place so far. I didn't realize we could ask for more for no extra cost. Our waters never got refilled, nor did we get a large bottle of water like other tables. We also only got one napkin which wasn't helpful since we had chicken. We also received someone else's order until the owner came over to correct it. Luckily we didn't touch it because it looked like it was given to the correct person shortly after they took it back to the kitchen. Overall, the food was good but the service was not my favorite.

I had been seeing this restaurant on yelp a lot and was meaning to go. BigSpoon Korean Restaurant is a spacious place with very warm and welcoming servers. The side dishes were all delicious, my favorite was the fish cakes and cucumbers. I ordered a pork belly soft tofu soup and it was so warm and flavorful. It is the perfect meal to have for the winter. It also comes with a side of rice. Another factor is that they have great vegetarian options. My friend is vegetarian and sometimes it is hard to find places to eat. They have tofu stew, kimchi stew, jappchae, and a lot of options.
