Beard Papa's Castro Valley

New (to me) location in Castro Valley Marketplace. Came early to get my birthday treat with my Philz coffee (couple stores down) The marketplace has community tables open to the public

If I had to pick my absolute favorite dessert ever, it would hands-down be Bearded Papa's! Ever since I moved to Hayward and first discovered this spot on Uber Eats, I've been hooked. Now, I make a trip every couple of weeks just to satisfy my cravings--it's that good!My #1 favorite flavor is the Honey Butter, but unfortunately, it's only available in-store (which just gives me an excuse to visit!). When ordering online, you can't go wrong with the Churro or S'mores flavors--they're both incredible. And if you go in-store, you get access to their daily flavors, which is such a fun surprise! I've got my eye on the Monday Vietnamese Coffee flavor and can't wait to try it.If you're a cream puff lover (or even if you're not yet), this place is a must-visit! Crispy, creamy, and packed with flavor--there's truly nothing like it.

Came here a few weeks ago when they had a promotion! Ordered six cream puffs and got a free frozen mango yogurt puff! That flavor was SOOO good!! The day I was there, their Flavor (filling) of the day was ube! I love ube so of course I had to get that filling in at least one of my cream puffs! I ordered the ube shell and the churro shell filled with ube filling. I then ordered vanilla filling for the strawberry, chocolate, cookie crumble, and honey butter shells! All of them tasted so good! I also like that they are generous with the amount of filling inside! The filling oozes out when you bite into the cream puff!

I've heard a lot about Beard Papa and after walking about Castro Valley, I asked Hubby if we can stop in to get some to try! The wait was actually really long. There wasn't that many people in front of us, but we waited maybe a good 20-25 minutes before it was our turn to order.We ordered 3 different flavors. We had wanted to get more but they had sold out and after a long day we didn't want to wait to the new batch to come on. It was actually really good. Very flavorful and the cream that goes along with it wasn't too sweet. One is quite a lot, so we saved the others for the next day. It was actually good and I would come by again to get different flavors to try. The wait though was a bit long though, so we'll see when we'll come back here to order.

I got the chocolate eclair shell. I got their vanilla filling. It was ok. I think is good to try everything once. I wouldn't try it again because it didn't have a very distinctive flavor and wasn't unique to anything else. I think maybe if I warmed it up it would have tasted better. I ate it right away but I think it needed to be warm to elevate the taste, it's not probably how it supposed to be eaten tho. The area is nice and there are seats outside. Customer service was good.

Surprised my kids with a treat to end summer internship and they were soooo yummy. This was introduced to me by a colleague who was assigned to bring deserts for a dinner get together. Consistently delicious! Every flavor I've tried so far is just divine. Service was great. Cashier was friendly and allowed us to used yelp discount upon check in. Place was organized and clean. Definitely will be a staple in our home.

Love that there's a beard papa's so close. Love their cream puffs. The staff are friendly and helpful. The shop is in the market place so it can get cramped a bit in line when there is one, but pretty fast service.

My first time at this Beard Papa's it took me a min to find it cause I didn't realize it was in a small food hall. But once I realized it was easy to find! I got lucky and there wasn't anyone in line when I walked up but a big line formed behind me. I came specifically to try and gudetama collab! They were both tasty and cute! But quite expensive, it was $37 total for only 6 of them. I'd say just get one of the gudetama ones and regular ones with it so it's not so pricy! The ladies working in the store were very nice too! Would definitely come back if I'm craving some tasty Creme puffs!

Reportedly the world's best cream puffs, from an Osaka, Japan based bakery, so I was thrilled to hear that one would be opening up in Castro Valley. I came during their opening week, so the flavor options were limited. There is a generous amount of cream custard filling, and if you like that, you will love these cream puffs. If you find that might be overwhelming, as I did, then the overall tasting experience is a bit imbalanced.I didn't find these cream puffs worth the price tag, but that's subjective. Great to try at least once. And that one try is probably enough for me.
