1888 Coffee Station

What a gem! I stumbled across this coffee shop looking for a quick caffeine fix before continuing my day, and wow I'm so happy I found this spot!I ordered an iced salty dog (salted caramel latte) and the person I was with got a cold brew. The prices are super reasonable. And.. the coffee was really good! My iced latte hit the spot. The employee was fast, efficient, and very kind. It's a walk up coffee spot so the drinks were done in literally minutes and we headed on with our day with no long waits. Will be back and definitely recommend!

Five star review for local business with chill staff, waking distance from my home, good enough coffee, excellent doughnuts. On a different day, I could see me writing this review as four stars. Look -- limited seating and food that's a touch pricey for the portions means it isn't my daily/regular coffee place but I do stop by about once a month and have never had a bad experience. Their pastries are the hidden gem. The tiny little doughnuts have a sharp sweetness that's difficult to match: .

This is what all coffee drinkers need to experience LOL.... Just kidding. But it is very good. And they have Vietnamese coffee and it's good. They have lattes that are good as well. The breakfast avocado toast is the bomb. The pastries and mochi is really good and fresh.I like to walk here to get my steps in, I pass by on one side and then on my return, I stop and get my coffee.

This is a grab and go coffee spot across from the Gardens at Lake Merritt. It seemed like a local spot as the owner/barista/cashier was striking up a conversation with some customers.We ordered two drinks:Latte (16 oz - $4.95): Not my drink, but I took a few sips+Strong coffee flavor balanced by the whole milk Pumpkin Pie Latte (16 oz - $5.45) with 2 pumps syrup (50% sweet)+Good amount of pumpkin pie spices that didn't overwhelm the coffee itself-Reminded me more of pumpkin spice vs pumpkin pie: Adding some pie crumbles on top would evoke pie more*Verdict: The drinks were less expensive than other coffee shops I've been too, and it's a convenient spot to grab coffee and/or pastries around Lake Merritt.

This review is solely based off the food item that I ordered. I got an egg sandwich - bacon egg and cheddar on a brioche bun.I had high hopes as I have been eyeing this place for a long while and it had good reviews but I was met with disappointment when I took my first bite.They put so much mustard!! I literally gagged when I saw this. Egg with mustard is a crime. Also they didn't put cheddar? It was some other type of cheese. Not sure was good though. I also wish that the green aioli they included on the side was more flavorful. I couldn't really taste anything when I tried it.My biggest disappointment was the mustard situation. I wish I would've known so I could've requested it without it. I will say the service was great- the girl at the register was very sweet regardless of the mid day rush. She deserves all the flowers!

5+stars! This was first visit. I'm so glad I decided to stop by. What a treat! I got a cappuccino and a scone. I was super impressed by both.I have a hard time describing the espresso. It's a bit of a different style than I've ever had. Very clean, subtle, and smooth, with a great caffeine punch.It's actually been years since I've had a proper, tasty scone. To me, somehow throughout time, what's called a scone, has become a dry, tasteless, and unsatisfactory experience. This, on the other hand, reminded me of great scones of my past, haha. Very butter with a perfect texture.Yes, I'll be back often, as it's near by :)

This place is always busy when I pass by and now I know why. This past Monday I was able to give it a try and the Lavender Latte was superb. It will definitely give you a strong kick of caffeine that keeps you going throughout the day. The space itself is small with no real seating but I'm not complaining at all. This setup makes it the perfect place to grab a quick coffee and walk around the lake. I'm glad to have this coffee spot in my neighborhood.

I only got a cup of coffee there but it was good coffee! They don't take cash, there are no accessible restrooms, it's literally just a hole in the wall with like one stand-up table outside or something, but if you need a quick fix of the bean when you're on the go near Lake Merritt, it's fits the bill!

Lovely spot. No seating so it's definitely a walk-up window to grab your stuff and take it with you. Cashless! It's a 4.5 stars for me but I rounded up. Good prices, it feels like "normal" latte prices closer to $6 total than like $8+ Ive seen in other places/starbucks. Fantastic chai!! Super fresh and strong flavor. They say homemade and I believe it. Just fantastic. This is the only place I will order chais in the area now. The baked goods are from Third Culture. Nice that I can grab my guava mochi donut from here at the same time. Pretty fast too. This is a small establishment and I've only ever seen one person working in there, but I've never had to wait long at all.

We tried the Greek Breakfast Wrap and the Cinnamon Brown Sugar Latte. Both were absolutely incredible! This place is a perfect grab and go on a weekend morning - the service was great and speedy.
