Amazing food as everyone already mentions! Great for a date, friends, or solo, and I'm always impressed how incredibly family friendly this restaurant is.Inside is stroller and big group friendly with spacious seatings and flexible table layout. Crayons, coloring papers, kids folk, spoon, bowl, and chopsticks for the practicing. They have kids menu and kids ramen comes with delicious low fat chicken chasu and no MSG soup in perfect temperature. Kids karaage (Japanese fried chicken) is everyone's favorite. They make noodles fresh in house, just like Afuri in Japan. Great whether you like your ramen light or rich. Great vegan options. I'm so happy that I don't need to go all the way back home to Japan to enjoy an amazing ramen bowl like this. People here are truly kind and passionate about their business. My only complaint is that our family love their ramen so much that even our 1 year old eats 2 kids bowls and sometimes more:)They're already quite popular but I'm a fan and want to see this place do well and last a long time in the neighborhood. What a gem.

Love coming to AFURI for a quick meal before I go out in the area. AFURI always hits the spot with its authentic Japanese flavors. Upon walking in, the ambiance is quite the vibe with its spacious dining room and open kitchen. My favorite item on the menu is hands down the Yuzo Shio Ramen, its light yet the citrusy broth is perfectly seasoned - making it a very refreshing yet very satisifying meal. It's honestly perfect any time of the year but will definitely always be my go to in the hotter months of the year - it's very unique and I love that AFURI has this on their menu since most ramen joints, I feel only have a rich and heavy option.AFURI has a great drink selection and they make decent cocktails. In addition, the staff is very attentive and knowledgeable. Service has been very quick and on point every time I've come here. Highly recommend this spot for anyone in the area looking for a quick meal or even a relaxed evening out.

If you've had afuri yuzu dip ramen in Japan, this might not quite meet your expectations. While I was excited to try it, I found the yuzu flavor to be quite lacking compared to what I've had before. The dipping broth is also very oily, leaving a heavy coating in the mouth. The chashu wasn't as tender as I'd hoped, and there were a lot of lettuce and bamboo shoots used as fillers. Additionally, the scallop carpaccio was on the smaller side and felt a bit overpriced for what it was. Overall, it wasn't quite what I was looking for, but it might still appeal to those who haven't had a chance to try it in Japan. It is a refreshing ramen!

My friend and I were excited to dine at Afuri! I've heard great things about this Tokyo-based ramen chain. This Brooklyn location is larger than I expected! There is so much space and high ceilings that makes it seem even larger! It was busy and popping during lunch time, and even when we ate at 2pm, it was still nearly a full house!Service was pretty solid - attentive and food came out quickly! We started off with appetizers:Spicy Tori Karaage - 5/5 Would get this again! Boneless wings that are filling and is thinly coated in a flavorful spicy sauce, a spicy sauce that has just enough of a kick but doesn't require one to wash down with waterTuna Tartare - 3/5 Kinda meh and for $20 I can't say I'd order it again. I guess from previous experiences I was expecting tuna to come intact in bite sized pieces but it was all mush. If one thing, it looks pretty! The toppings of the chives and salmon caviar are were okay, but when mixed altogether, I lost the taste of the tuna and the toppings overpowered it rather than enhanced it for me. Also the wonton chips to tartare ratio seemed off to me (i would have loved more chips, and not pay $2 more). We got our ramen order shortly after. I tried the Yuzu Shoyu which was delicious! I usually prefer thick to thin noodles for my ramen, but I actually loved Afuri's thin noodles! I echo the sentiment I read from another review where I was left with more noodles than broth by the end, and didn't finish the noodles (that's how good the broth is!). I preferred to have the broth:noodle ratio a little higher!I also ordered a hot peach ginger tea. It came in such a cute Afuri-branded glass mug that I wanted to buy it for myself (is merch available??) It was a particularly cold day so the hot bowl of ramen and hot tea was a perfect way to finish off the meal! I'd recommend trying the ramen here, and would also come back! Hope to see you again soon, Afuri!

Was in the mood for ramen on a cold day. Didn't have a reservation for Saturday lunch but the space is huge and we were easily sat at the bar (the only people sitting there, actually). The playlist overhead is great but if you're looking for a cozy small ramen spot, this isn't it.Started with the karaage. This is always delicious but I really enjoyed it here. Felt like the crispiness was just enough without being too "fried".For ramens, we grabbed the yuzu shio and ratan. The former was a super clean ramen. Personally would have liked it a bit saltier but overall just a fresh and simple dish. The spicy version I preferred as I felt it was a bit more interesting even if it could be spicier. I do think the noodles could bit a bit improved upon in terms of texture. I loved that they came with a huge soup spoon, which is something you don't often see at ramen restaurants. Finally, the amount of meat in each ramen was super lacking, especially for the price. Not sure I would necessarily come back here for ramen given how many other options there are in the area but it was worth the try if you're around.

HUGE space with a tall ceiling and lots of natural sunlight. It almost reminds me of a brewery space.I heard tsukemen was the main thing to get at Afuri, so I was excited to try it. However, their dipping sauce is not the traditional heavy, flavorful type. Quite contrarily, it was super light, soy sauce based, and had a TON of yuzu flavor. It was way too sweet for me as well.

As a large group with kids, this spot was incredibly friendly and accommodating. It's spacious and comfortable. We ordered a variety of small plates - bok choy, gyoza, and such. All packed a lot of flavor that wasn't too empowering. As for the ramen, I had the yuzu shio - and it was just the perfect balance of yuzu mixed into the broth. My experience was not rushed and was calm. Our wait staff was fantastic and knowledgeable. I do wish the portions were a bit larger but I'd totally come back.

Afuri ramen is now open in williamsburg and they serve the most refreshing yuzu ramen. I tried out their ramen for the first time in tokyo and I'm so happy to see they're open in NYC now!You can taste the yuzu notes in their broth, which makes it a lighter broth than other ramen chains. I find most ramen broths too heavy, yet even their tsukemen is still bright and light. I've been multiple times and each time is a delight!

Super easy to make a large party reservation on a Friday afternoon (9 people). The staff were nice and accommodating, letting us move our seats to be farther from the window. I ordered the Yuzu Shio and it was definitely Yuzu-y. I don't think I've ever tasted ramen like this before. We also tried the karage and gyoza, which I thought both were ok. Afuri is also incredibly child friendly with crayons and coloring and plenty of high chairs.Service was a bit inconsistent though. Our waiter unfortunately over promised and under delivered, so we constantly had to flag down someone else. Lastly, it can get a bit chilly in there because the space is so big, so I imagine a bit hard to keep warm.
