Okay came here around when they were still very new and I want to say I was expecting a larger space, not sure why - but yeah, this place is pretty small. Travel lightly if you come. Service was good, but food wise not so memorable. A got the sashimi salad, but can't remember what A said about it. I remember something was off. Maybe the dressing? Gyoza wasn't good from what I recall. The sake Don didn't satiate my craving. I wish I wrote my review right after my meal here, unfortunately, I can't recall much except I would not be returning due to be underwhelmed. But good addition to the hood, need more places to open.

Thrilled this restaurant finally opened in the neighborhood--I couldn't wait to try it!I started with the appetizers, and the tuna crispy rice was a standout--perfectly crispy and topped with fresh jalapeños. The yakitori set, paired with a draft beer, was wonderfully marinated and full of flavor. My favorite dish was the mentaiko pasta; it was rich, creamy, and simply delicious. The beef sukiyaki had a comforting sweetness, and the yakiniku wagyu hot stone was a unique experience, letting you cook the tender beef to your liking. Overall, the food was fantastic, and I'll definitely be back to explore more of the menu.As for the cocktails--they were just okay.

I got the salmon avocado sushi, which I really enjoyed. Everything had a good texture and taste that blended well. It tasted pretty fresh. I think the portion was a bit small for the price though. I also got the veggie tempura which I probably would not want to get again. It did not have the pumpkin and was too small for the price.

Tora really blew us away tonight. The food was so good especially the Mentaiko Pasta. I'm definitely going to go home thinking about how chewy the noodles were and how good the pasta sauce was. We got the gyudon, Tora Highball (it was actually great), OEC Yuzu Pilsner, B set happy hour skewer set. It's a crime there weren't more guests during their Saturday Happy Hour. The food was all seasoned so well and absolutely delicious. The skewers could've been hotter though but forgivable. The lighting is great and sick playlist. Please give them a try, you won't regret it.

Ordered the following: - Tuna Crispy Rice $19: Spicy tuna with mentaiko sauce and topped with jalapeño and cod roe and had eel sauce beneath the crispy rice so definitely a combination of sweet, savory, and spicy- Mentaiko Pasta $18 served with a side salad and vegetable gyoza - Love the sides it came with! Beware of the wasabi soy sauce with the salad though, really helps clear the airway in your nose! Haha and loved the crispy rice paper seaweed. The gyoza was crispy and yummy as well. The pasta was great with the bacon bits but was bit too spicy. - Yakitori: Pork Belly wrapped Enoki $6, Beef Short Rib $8 - Both were good.- Yakiniku A5 Wagyu on hot stone $35: Expensive for 7 pieces of meat but it was so good that it literally melts in your mouth! The marinate was just right with a bit of sweetness and great with the bowl of rice.Came on a weekend around the time it opens so was seated right away and there was no one besides my friend and I. Staff was very attentive and gave us time to look over the menu and kept coming by to check if things were ok. Always came to refill our water a couple of times. Lots of seating and very spacious. Bathroom as also clean and spacious.FYI - 5% discount if you check-in on Yelp and show them.

Bushwick definitely needs more Japanese food options, and this place was a good find. With a great variety of options it was a bit of a challenge to pick my order, multiple options sounded great. I went with the salmon don, my friend the pork katsu curry, and we snagged melon high balls and karaage chicken off the happy hour menu which runs until 7pm.Overall the food was great at satisfying, definitely hit the spot. My only complain is that the portions are a bit small for the price, in my opinion. While I was content, I left here hungry still a bit hungry and considered ordering more. Overall I would give this spot an 8/10 and definitely with a go. Looking forward to coming back and trying out more of their food!

My favorite things that I ordered was the mentaiko pasta. I only ordered it because they did not have the soba. The gyudon was delicious. I mixed it with the mushroom app and it paired so well. The skewers were delicious as well (beef short rib and pork jowl) I also enjoyed the tempura, my favorite has to be the pumpkin tempura! Servers were very friendly and attentive. I loved the music and the interior, it's very beautiful.

One of my new favorite spots!I've been telling everyone that Bushwick needs an izakaya so I'm glad that Tora opened. Such a great addition to the neighborhood.My family and I tried a bunch of things off the menu: takowasa, yakitori, sashimi, wagyu etc. Dishes were fresh, flavorful, and presented nicely. A bit pricier than regular izakaya fare but it's a more upscale place so that was expected. Also! They have one of the best crispy rices I've had. I'm glad I don't need to go all the way to the city when the craving hits. They also have a good selection of cocktails, wine, and sake.Can't wait to go back!

So happy we found this lovely restaurant with amazing food in the neighborhood! Service was wonderful and the menu had all my favorites. The Takoyaki was delicious. Also the Gyudon and Chashudon. I ordered the Chirashidon- super fresh and the rice which many places get wrong was prepared properly. Highly recommend. It will be our go to spot now!

Service, atmosphere, and food were all amazing!! I love this place, live in Manhattan but always find an excuse to come eat here. I love the skewers (especially pork belly with Enoki), tuna crispy rice, spicy hotate roll. Definitely a must try!
