Let me just say, It's been a LONG week. And after a ten hour day I just wanted to treat myself and definitely NOT COOK!!So I wanted something comforting and a little spicy and delicious. This was my first time ordering and when I first pulled up I thought the place was closed as the windows were dark. But open it was. The business is still practicing social distancing, like extra. No one even comes to the window. They kinda yell at you through a baby monitor. Mmm okay. Awkard.So, I ordered Pad Thai Chicken and Kani salad. The salad was small but delicious. A crab salad with cucumbers and lettuce in a light slightly sweet dressing. Good start. Now the noodles. Bland, like nothing. The chicken tasted boiled. It added ZERO. NO SPICE. NO SEASONING. I said I did NOT want to cook, right? I had no back up at home. So I had to doctor up the noodles. Yup, go to the spice cabinet and add a little flavor. So I ended up not just cooking But RE-COOKING!!

We've been going to south ocean since they opened. Their food is pretty consistent and usually good. But the owners and staff have become so disgruntled and rude that we just simply can't go back. They bark at you through a baby monitor. I get PTSD after every visit!On top of that, they make their customers stand outside in a line regardless of the weather because they only take one customer in the little vestibule at a time. They have an entire dining room that they're not using yet they make their customers wait outside in all sorts of weather.Last time we were there we had a typical order that was between $70 and $80. After I paid, I asked for a bag of noodles and they said noodles are 80 cents. Am I gonna run another credit card transaction for 80 cents?? I said just give me the order and forget the noodles. And they did.

Discovered this place for a late dinner after arriving at our hotel. Picked specifically for soup options but the egg drop soup was unfortunately thick and congealed; barely warm and without a way to heat up it was inedible. Sesame chicken, scallion pancake and moo goo gai pan were decent.

Wait for food is 10 mins, but nothing much going on so that minimum reflects how un busy they are....Saturday night, dinner time. Dine in is weird...order is take out only (they explained that they are short of help...my take is that they are so slow that they cannot employ anyone to serve or clean dishes). But two people at the counter....! However there is an option to seat yourself at one of the tables and eat your take out order. No chopsticks, napkins, or sauce packets in the bag or offered. Ordered large vege lomein, and it was not very large or very full of vegetables. I think I counted three small peapods. Mostly noodles, moist but not enough sauce which was thin...and not very flavorable. Would not order that again and would think twice about ordering anything. Really what Chestnut Hill (and Flourtown) need is a great, dependable Chinese restaurant, like the old Yu Hsiang at the foot of Germantown Avenue, not an Asian hybrid.

Miss the quality and friendliness of when they first opened. Used to be our go-to for Chinese and occasional sushi (sushi chef turnover an issue for me). Was craving chicken fried rice yesterday and without the hot mustard would have been totally bland. Sad.

The previous ratings are rather high. We ordered sushi and it was ok; a bit bland. We also ordered Chinese food which I thought tasted better. We went to dine in and it was a little too dark and not welcoming to sit down. Staff was very nice and while we were there eating there were a lot of people coming in to pick up their orders. The Chinese meals were hot and but since we were dining-in, I expected not to eat from my to-go containers.

It's a small cafeteria style linoleum square with people who look like they are just on the clock until checkout. Sushi is below average versus others in town. Not terrible but completely uninspired and no vibe whatsoever.
