I called the store to get info for a dear friend who just had surgery and the owner himself was so helpful and went above and beyond. Making sure the my friend was able to get the amazing shawarma from next door. I love Wagners as my nieghbor's. Just lovely.

Really miss the days of this being a normal, reasonably priced convenience store. The same six-packs of Lagunitas, St Arnold etc that are $11 at any other store on St Claude are $14.99 across the board here. La Croix is $7.99. I don't know what they're thinking. Sure they'll squeeze this money out of the tourists, but it's a shame for all the people for whom this is the closest store. It's a shame for those of us who don't want to support Hanks.

My corner store, always open, even when electricity is out. They gave me a flashlight to see what I needed and were friendly and relaxed. Yes, it can sometimes have some sketchy-looking characters hanging around, but don't let that deter you. They too have also only been friendly and polite to me. So happy to have this 24-hour store always at the ready!!

Went to Wagner's tonight. I pick up your there quite often but I was really disappointed that two employees were not wearing masks and the nice girl checking me out had mask over her mouth only. As I was leaving someone else came in not wearing a mask. Nope. I will not be back.

Oh, Wagner's. I had to review this place, because I am here 3 times a week, and doesn't even have a listing on Yelp! Yelp doesn't have enough categories for this place. They have SO MUCH different stuff- beer, wine, booze, meat (and a butcher too!), fruit, snacks, candy..... the list goes on. I wouldn't recommend running here for any random household items like aluminum foil or drain opener, but they have basic late night staples. Their beer selection is kind of surprising/amazing. Tons of ciders (my jam), nicer local beers (Nola, Abita), and an impressive canned (read: cheaper) beer section. The trick is to go in the cooler. It sort of looks like you aren't allowed to, but do it anyway! There are lots of singles for your biking-while-sipping pleasure as well. I can't vouch for their wine, but it does appear to be on the lower priced end- think wine coolers and things that come in jugs or boxes. There are crazy sales often, right near the register. The staff are really friendly, which is a change of pace coming from Hank's down the street. Wagner's is the question and the answer to all your (non-household) problems. There is also a daquiri shop next door, which is rarely open. Famous for it's 'DUST MONEY' drink, I can't wait to check it out!

This is the best store of its kind in the neighborhood because they have a beer cave and their staff is helpful--they even take care to protect their customers from foolishness. Their meat is good and reasonably priced.

This store was great when it opened. Nice atmosphere, very safe feeling. I would actually pass another store closer to my house to come here. In the last month it has taken a very nasty turn. There are always people loitering in the parking lot. There is a guy by the door or just around the corner from the door all day and all night dealing drugs - yes it's obvious. Last friday night at 10 pm there were 26 people in 4 different groups hanging out in the parking lot drinking and smoking pot. A group around the corner from the door, a group just past the ice machine in the parking lot, a group at the back edge of the parking lot and a group on the steps of Urgent Care across the parking lot. - To top it off there was a man in the doorway with an open beer that sort of blocked me a minute from getting in the store then 2 more in the store drinking with open containers. This has become a regular occurance. I have even seen the young guys that work here in the evening come outside to take a toke with the guys hanging out by the door. Last night 10:30 pm - 17 people hanging out drinking and you could smell the pot on the guys hanging out by the door . Just left there 4pm today and there are 9 guys around the St Claude corner and 3 hanging directly in front of the No Loitering sign that I guess was put up as a joke since no one enforces it at all.It has turned into a very dangerous feeling place. There is never any one that's not a kid working here - no one old enough or mature enough to keep a handle on what is happening. I tried to find out who owns it or talk to a "grown up" but to no avail. I guess I'll go back to shopping at Hank's - I'd rather fend off the beggars in their parking lot than get caught in the middle of all the drunks and dealers in Wagner's parking lot. VERY VERY disappointed at what is happening here. Honestly I don't know why the cops don't get a handle on it since it is so obvious as to what goes on here . Am I upset - YES. I liked my neighborhood store. Now it feels shady and dangerous no matter what time of day or night you go there. Come on people. How could you let this happen???? Yes the staff is friendly - but it just doesn't feel safe anymore.

I like Wagner's. They have a decent assortment of products. The employees there are very friendly. They have a good beer selection and a lot of odds-&-ends for your pantry if you run out of something last minute. BUT - here's the kicker - they don't have prices on most of their products. So add an extra $5 to however much you think you're spending on anything more than a pack of gum. Today I bought a Santa Fe Brewing IPA 6-pack, pack of generic spaghetti, and two small Klondike Chaco-taco ice creams - What I figured was would be $15-ish at most bodegas - and the Wagner's total was $20.50. I understand convenience demands a premium - and I'll pay it up to a point - but you'd save money shopping at Whole Foods over Wagner's. You'd be eating/drinking better too.
