I can't say enough great things about Vaucresson's Sausage Factory Restaurant! This is hands down the best restaurant food I've had in a long time. Coming from a Black-owned business serving authentic Creole cuisine right here in New Orleans, the experience is nothing short of extraordinary. The flavors are bold, the ingredients are fresh, and every bite feels like a celebration of our culture and traditions. Whether you're a local or just visiting, this spot is a must-visit for anyone craving the true taste of New Orleans.Support this gem--you won't regret it!

Today we, absolutely had a fantastic experience at Vaucresson's Creole Cafe! We both thoroughly enjoyed the delicious Catfish with the delectable sides of Mac & Cheese, Potato Salad, and Peas. The fact that I cleaned my plate is a true testament to how satisfying and flavorful the meal was to my tastebuds. Everyone tells me I'm picky. Both Ms. Julie and Mr. Vance Vaucresson, provided such warm and attentive customer service as well. Sampling the traditional Hog Head Cheese was a nostalgic treat, taking you back to your childhood. And the Jerked Chicken Sausages I purchased to try later was an enticing addition to my culinary adventure. It's clear to me that that Vaucresson's Creole Cafe is a gem in the 7th Ward, offering authentic Creole cuisine and exceptional hospitality. Positive experiences like this truly capture the essence of New Orleans' rich food culture and community. Thank you very much and I will definitely be a repeat customer!

The "new" space is great, maybe a bit sparse on the decor but the food and service are great. Everyone is so friendly! You'll still see them at all the festivals - every Jazz Fest since inception! - but now you can come here for a meal, or to take home some sausages to cook. I honestly bring these sausages up to my relatives in Wisconsin - sausage capital of the U.S.! They're that good and everyone raves about the quality, texture, flavor, etc.So glad to be able to get great food from great local folks whenever you want. Try all the sauces too!

I am writing this sitting outside of the restaurant. This place is special!! I came back because of the gumbo; this time I brought a consultant and ordered the spaghetti and meatballs. We got the plates and everything was cold so they heated up the plate and it still was not heated through. We were given some delicious hot fries to compensate for our meals which was perfectly fine with that compensation and I let my server know that I will be back. Well, the owner stopped us as we were leaving to let me know that the meals were comped! I let her know that we were fine paying for the meals but she insisted on comping them. This kind of service is what has been lacking in the industry for a while!! As I told my server today is not the last time I will be coming to the restaurant. Great service and hospitality!!!

My first time at Vaucressons shop since reopening. Very clean, fresh and welcoming. When you walk through the door. I went in for some sausage to take home but they also had options where they had sandwiches and hot plates available as well. When you walk in they greet you like your family and behind the counter they are actively putting fresh sausage in the casing real time to package which you can also buy fresh by the pound. Behind that they're cooking hot food to go out it's the perfect combination of smells. While You're trying to figure out what you want whether to dine in or get Hot food or sausage to go. They constantly put out samples to let you taste the different sausage options they have. I end up getting 2 lb of hot sausage and a small potato salad which was delicious by the way and the sausage was banging when you fried. It's not too greasy in the pan like pattons and the flavor is Bliss. I'll definitely return the spot

We had been waiting patiently for the cafe to open. We'd pass by every few months to check on it. I'm excited to say that it's finally open. Woo-hoo!My dad invited me to lunch and said the cafe is open, let's check it out. Owners Julie and Vance Vaucresson welcomed us with open arms, typical of New Orleans culture. The cafe is bright, airy and beautiful. The white painted walls and ceiling, reclaimed wood wainscoting, and polished concrete floors set it off nicely. The inside is small and intimate. Somewhat reminiscent of Pontilly Coffee, I can easily envision the young and old hanging out here to study, have a meeting, chill, or, you know, eat. We ordered the hot sausage sandwich and sausage sampler platter. The food was fresh and delicious. The sampler platter included hot sausage, chicken sausage, and jerk sausage. My favorite was the jerk, followed by the chicken. I'm not the biggest fan of spicy food, so the hot sausage took third place. The sausages were accompanied by three sauces: mango sauce, green onion sauce, and creole mustard. The sausages, mustards and sauces are all made in house. And the prices were reasonable. They're planning to sell the mustards and sauces by the bottle early next year, and I can't wait. They also have merch, t-shirts and aprons that would make great gifts. There are many articles on the internet about their story. Like many post-Katrina experiences, it's an inspiring, heartwarming story of resilience and sticktoitiveness. Google Vaucresson sausage in your spare time, and then stop by the cafe and show some love.

The Hot sausage po'boy is my favorite but the Alligator sausage and hog head cheese also are in my top favorites. If you want to give yourself a big treat, go to Vaucresson's.

First red flag is that this restaurant does not have a clear menu on line. You arrive and you immediately have to pay for whatever they decide to cook that day. PLEASE BEWARE THAT YOU ALSO ARE GIVEN A PROMPT TO PRE-PAY A TIP BEFORE YOU RECEIVE THE SERVICE. I made the terrible mistake of adding a tip with my order (guilt because it's black-owned, optimnism I guess). BUT NEVER AGAIN. TIPS ARE TO BE FOR SERVICES RECEIVED! (That means after the fact.) Well, you can guess what happened later. The service was terrible and disorganized. It felt like they'd never done this before. Food came out real late and at two different times for the two of us. The gumbo was very salty and the fish was not well cooked. Limited menu. Limited quality. Limited hours. Limited service. There are so many other choices of where to spend your money for food in New Orleans. They ain't right.

When we arrived, we had high hopes. Woman at the counter was kind and helpful. We ordered the gumbo and catfish plate that comes with mac and cheese, peas, and potato salad. Drinks took long to get to the table, but gumbo came shortly after. Gumbo was good. Food took another 30 minutes to get to the table. Fish was fried great but no flavor. Mac and cheese was not mac and cheese. Potato salad was pretty good. I wouldn't come back just because the price and wait was not worth the food I got. The service was good, ambiance was great, but the wait and food, not so much. While we were waiting for our meal, people were coming and making to go orders, and they seemed to get their food faster. That might be a better option.

The gumbo is one of the best I the city. I also tree the fish plate with Mac and cheese. I don't recommend the Mac and cheese. It was oily and no cheese.
