We purchased from the Wine Seller for our wedding at Race + Religious this past March, 2019 (recommended by our wedding planner Michelle Norwood Weddings). We would highly recommend this for any couple who wants a no stress alcohol vendor (and to slash costs) - it was an amazing deal! First, it is so affordable. If you are like us and on a budget for a wedding, but wanted that open bar feeling without shelling out thousands of $$$, the Wine Seller is a perfect choice. This was by far one of the most cost effective decisions we made. We ended up spending LESS than we had budgeted (a rare occasion for those of you who have planned a wedding), and a very reasonable cost per person for a 4 hour event. Also, the service is amazing. Everything was like 1 million times easier than in a traditional wedding vendor situation. No down payments 6-12 months out, and we could just figure it all out like 30 days beforehand. In fact, you don't even pay for the service until after the event .. AND best part, he will REFUND you for any unopened bottles which haven't been chilled so you can also save that way. Seriously, a wedding industry hack. Finally, Ben and his team were super easy to do business with - very chill, accommodating, and refreshing for people who are dealing with 15+ wedding vendors. We wanted to do something chill like local beer, a variety of wine, and two signature cocktails. We gave him the list and revised it once, and we were set (he really accommodated everything we asked for, within reason). For the day of logistics, it was all really straight forward. Wine Seller brought the alcohol to the venue on time and set it all up, and he even delivered some wine/prosecco to a hotel we were at earlier in the morning on short notice without a problem. 5 stars for Ben and the Wine Seller - a superb service!

Apparently the store has been around for about 30 years. I had been to the St. James Cheese Company in the past and didn't realize the store was only a couple of buildings away. That's my loss. I did discover the store when I had to pick up some wine I had ordered after a wine and food pairing dinner my wife and I had attended. The Wine Seller has a nice selection of wines covering quite a few different price points. Before I picked up my previous order, I added a couple bottles of Spanish wines I was interested in trying. The service was excellent.

Just bought champagne for a family party. The staff was helpful and did not try to upsell me which I appreciated since I had to buy a bunch of bottles. There prices are good, but don't expect any really cheap bottles here. They go for quality instead. They also carry some hard liquor & mixers.Buy a bottle & go next door to drink it with some cheese at St. James.

I'd like to say always always follow Jen L.'s advice as she has yet to steer me wrong (your rock girl!) ... BUT- the Wine Seller is a GREAT place to buy CHEAP bottles! I first thought that it might only have some upscale prices and that i'd walk out empty handed or with something for a special occasion but I really think that the Wine Seller has wines for every price range. I happen to love Spanish Tempranillo's and I appreciate the variety offered here. They take the time to make sure that they know about each bottle and that they are hand chosen. I found a Tempranillo for $7, $12, and more than $20. Totally affordable! I did not, however, find any two-buck-chuck here. Check out the very cool desk that is made out of wine crates. Also, don't feel afraid to reach out for help here- they aren't the kind of staff that will ask if you need help (if they were they'd get 5 stars).

This is a wonderful neighborhood store. It is remarkably eclectic for the family size and price. Ben knows what he is doing and he loves it.

This is a small and intimate little wine store with a decent selection of wine and bubbly. They also carry a selection of liquor and beer. This is one of the nicest sections of Prytania Street so that makes the location of the store quite convenient if you need to pick up something to bring to dinner at one of the restaurants in the area or the Prytania Theatre. This is also right down from St. James Cheese Company so you can do a nice cheese and wine shopping pairing with that propitious synchronicity.

Nice place which happens to be easy walking distance from my fiancee's place so it s generally my go-to shop. There are a few bottles at very low price points and a few on the higher end but most seem to be in the $15-50 range and the folks at the shop will help steer you toward whatever you want. Given the small space and an entire wall devoted to [good] beer & liquor you won't find the largest wine selection in the world at The Wine Seller but they seem to pick good wines at every price and style so you're unlikely to go wrong. As with any small brick & mortar shop you'll pay a few dollars more than an online retailer but you also don't have to pay shipping and you're helping keep good local folks in business. At times I have found some values but sadly one of my favorites was the 1L bottles of Hendrick's gin which used to be priced very well but has now been raised to be consistent with everywhere else in town.If you're in Uptown, it's worth checking out The Wine Seller but there are a number of other options which are also worthwhile.

I'm so glad The Wine Seller is my neighborhood wine store! I have always had a great experience here. They have a great selection of wines in the $10-$20 range as well as your pricier bottles for special occasions or if your budget allows. The staff has always been helpful with suggestions and never scoffs at my price limitations. They also have champagne and liquor. I highly recommend The Wine Seller for your wine needs!

Ben from The Wine Seller was very responsive. We needed a lot of champagne for our wedding, and they made sure we had exactly what we needed. He was also very knowledgeable and willing to talk through different ideas with us.

I live in Nevada and wanted to order a case of wine for a friend's party being held at their home in New Orleans. Ben, from the Wine Seller, made it extremely easy. We texted about wineries, quantities and prices. Once I decided on a selection, he took my credit card over the phone and delivered the order perfectly. Decent prices and no muss and no fuss. Highly recommend The Wine Seller. Excellent service!
