The Original Italian Pie

I was looking for pizza in walking distance from my hotel and this came highly rated- so bought pizza for take out. I got the Italian Pie Combination- small- it was a good size, tasty crust, lots of toppings. The only negative was that it was supposed to be ready at 6:38 and didn't receive until 30 minutes after that- so not an ideal wait time. It may have been a one off with the timing. The pizza was delicious and would try it again.

Found this spot, here on Yelp. They have decent reviews so I decided to give them a try. I decided on the White Gourmet and the Italian Pie Combination with red crushed pepper and Parmesan cheese.I took my order to go. The order taker was nice. The place is very casual.The pizzas a were ready to go rather fast. I was disappointed when I opened my bag and boxes and there were no red crushed pepper flakes or Parmesan cheese. I am staying in an Airbnb and they do not have any condiments.The white pizza was good, it could have used a bit more chicken, spinach, and garlic. The Italian combination is exactly what I expected. I love the fact the pizza crusts were not too thick.

We ordered through UberEats to deliver to our hotel. Delivery was fine, the driver was sweet. Sadly, we wanted to try the Muffaletta pizza, pizza w/ a New Orleans twist, but we received a pepperoni pizza instead. Even the Diet Coke was wrong, we got a regular Coke in a bag stapled with the correct receipt. I don't blame the driver, I've blame the restaurant. We were starving and ate the pepperoni pizza, which was pretty good. It could have been cooked longer, but it wasn't greasy. I really wanted to try the Muffaletta pizza, so I was really disappointed.

Today has been a day and as soon as I landed in NOLA I had to get something to eat. After getting settled into my hotel, I performed a general search and stumbled upon The Original Italian Pie. The name itself stood out for me so I placed an order. Being from Boston I am a lover of good Pizza. Being that the name is The Original Italian Pie, I had to order a pie. I decided on a Small 10" with Extra Cheese and Pepperoni. Simple, however, this is the biggest test of all time. If you can't do a simple pizza right, for sure you can't do a gourmet pizza right. Oh yeah, let's see what this experience will be like. As soon as I opened the pizza box I knew I was in for a treat. The aroma of fresh seasonings filled my nose as the visual of grease and gooey cheese filled my eyes and made my mouth water. Being that the visual was amazing, it's time to take a bite!Babeeeeeeeeeeeee. When I say, The Original Italian Pie is truly The Original Italian Pie. I'm talking about truly. My pizza is amazing. Great seasoning. Quality Cheese. Quality Pepperoni. Perfect Crust to Toppings ratio. Nice Sauce consistency. And, Perfectly Baked. Yeah. It's official. This isn't just a Pizza. It's def a Pizza Pie experience. Thank you The Original Italian Pie for living up to your name. My stomach and taste buds are elated.

I love this shop. Unfortunately, I was not pleased with how my pizza turned out yesterday. I honestly believe the guy knew it was not to standard and his delivery to me was unacceptable. The bacon was burnt and made the pizza taste horrible.

Pizza was yummy, for sure. Small, quaint pizzeria with a great staff. Huge portions, too.

We got hungry and hubby decided to come give this a try. So glad we did!!! The food was delicious and the service was also as good as the food. Our hostess was very attentive for everything. Really great energy from her. Ask for Angie she was incredible and made our day. We are from Cali and been here a few times before, this time was my families first time and we all enjoyed our time. Come on the pizza is delicious you won't regret it.

Server friendly, and efficient.Pizza very good, plenty of toppings, just enough sauce and good cheese. Would definitely come again. Small. casual setting, has a bar but we did not make use of it

what a lovely evening our party of four had at Irene's. Polite waitstaff, delicious food, warm ambience. We look forward to a return our next time in New Orleans.

A pretty sorry excuse for pizza in our opinion... Ordered basic one topping thin crust and received something 3/4" thick which tasted like it could have been made a couple days ago. The "breadsticks" were even worse - not sure how they could make them so 2 dimensional - and technically not actually sticks - see photo. Very dense and stale tasting. If you're stuck in a hotel and think this is an option - keep looking. There are definitely better options in NOLA.And extra caveats for people who order through GrubHub - the restaurant claims they don't receive the anything you enter in the Instructions space, so simple requests like half/half toppings are ignored and the GrubHub software doesn't allow this option. I have to blame the restaurant for this since they won't take phone orders which forces you to use this crummy ordering app.
