The Original Castalano's

Friendly service, helpful with my food allergic but the best of all was the grilled shrimp melt Poboy! Hubby had lasagna, left my watering. Ordered at the counter and sit and smell the aroma and checkout the desserts and goodies you can take home as a good reminder that we hit the jackpot!!!

We were driving 90 and stopped in town to grab some lunch. It was a Monday and our choices from Yelp were closed, so we winged it and ended up here. So glad we did. This is an old-school family-run restaurant (with delicious-looking prepared foods to take home). It was bustling with locals. Maybe we misunderstood, but the menu seemed to be small and only have a few items. I see online there's a full two pages of items, which was not apparent to us. The service was friendly, and the food was good.

Ordered muffuletta and eggplant Parmesan. Took home crawfish corned stuffed chicken (still in the freezer, we haven't tried yet). The muffuletta was OK, a bit dry, could use a little olive oil from the olive pickle dressing. The eggplant parm was good, not great. Would try other dishes and update. Just prolly my choices. Willing to give a few more tries. For now it 3 stars.

Local secret. Awesome food. Don't tell anyone else. It is too good to share. I'm hungry now.

Not bad for Morgan City. Had duck appetizer, not over cooked which was nice and was decent. Had the gumbo and it was actually pretty good. Close to a home cooked gumbo. Got the eggplant Parmesan with side of meatball cause have to see if it was better than Fausto in Metarie. It's not but still it's pretty good. The eggplant definitely was a great choice. Enjoyed it, the pasta was done right. Eggplant was fried nicely as well. Their sauce has decent flavor. Would order it again.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. Over the years I have tasted a number of the menu items and have not been disappointed. But, my special item is the Italian mufalata. Wish they stayed open all day, it's that good.

Primo Italiano food. This reminded me of my families recipes. The owner and wait staff very friendly. Everything is homemade including the Italian sausage. I highly recommend the pasta with meatballs and sausage, appetizer being the Cajun Boudin egg rolls. The owner came by to say hello seeking positive and constructive feedback. Bon appetite.

First of all, they have the best food in Morgan City! Second of all, exceptional customer service! They accidentally gave me the wrong sandwich for take out, and even though I didn't ask, they personally delivered the correct sandwich to my door! I was seriously impressed!

Castalano's is HIGH KEY BUSSIN! Full stop.Panut butter and jelly burger and chicken parm sando are my personal favorites.

None of the workers wore masks...at all. I personally don't want my food to be prepared by someone who doesn't wear a mask.
