The Galley

We were looking for a place to eat after a high school track meet, and we found The Galley on Yelp. We figured we'd give it a try! It doesn't look fancy on the outside, and the ambiance inside is casual (just like we like it). We weren't there at a peak time of day, so we were seated right away and service was super quick. Let me tell you, I'll put the shrimp and grits at The Galley up against any I've had anywhere else. They were FANTASTIC! Well seasoned, generous with the shrimp, and so, so tasty. We don't often make it to Morgan City, but if we do, we'll eat here again!

We've been wanting to come to this place for a long time. Shara was fantastic!! Love her all the way to the moon!! The food is fantastic and the mimosas are on point!

Very lovely place for dining while in town! We ordered our appetizers first which we really enjoyed. The loaded fries hit the spot! We did notice however that our entrees took a little longer to come out. Without us having to mention it, our waitress was able to check on our food. The Philly wrap was not half bad albeit needing more seasoning. I loved the shoestring onion rings. Everything came out fresh and hot. Will be back soon!

When you have to take all the bread away just to taste the shrimp it ain't right. It was just a pitiful poboy with not enough shrimp and flavor. Very dry. The fried fish was ok. The fries were basic and the burger was ok. Fried pickles were decent and plentiful. Wouldn't see myself going back.

Came into this place about 45 minutes before closing and we were welcomed in without anger. Hear they're known for their breakfast; but we were served our drinks and food very fast. There's a nice amount of seating in this small joint with a few little game machines. The mac n cheese wedges are really good! They weren't as big as I expected but very good. I forget what the name of this burger was because they have a few, but it was also very good! Hot, wouldn't have hurt to put a little more cheese but had all other toppings and was very tasty, also huge! Fries were great as well and they don't give you much. Paid $72 for 2 apps, 3 drinks, and 3 meals so pricing isn't bad really. I wouldn't go far out of my way for this place but I would recommend it if someone was in the area

I stopped in for lunch as I was in the area and feeling a bit peckish. The parking lot was full, inside was close to being full. I was promptly seated and brought a beverage of my choice. I got the grilled cheese sandwich with onion rings and it was perfection. Inside is kitchy with all sorts of knickknacks on the walls. The service was fast and friendly despite them being packed. Everything was great and the food hit the spot.

Stopped here on the way back from New Orleans. Perfect hangover brunch. Tasty food and great service. Though the older waitress was snippy with her coworkers, mayhap just a bad start.Will be back.

If you have a legit service dog, expect trouble. I was asked multiple times to show an ADA card to prove my service dogs training. Illegal to ask me and does not even exist. There are NO such things as cards, registrations, certifications. Every website those are sold are scams and mean nothing and prove nothing. Despite telling him the 2 questions he is legally allowed to ask, he kept asking multiple other illegal questions. Given me an attitude. Claimed he knew the ADA law where clearly he doesn't after what he did based on what he did and asked for during this encounter. He acted like he was doing us a favor by allowing us to stay but told us next time I need that no. Existent "proof". When the proof he was asking for doesn't exist and proves nothing! At end he acted like he was doing US a favor by allowing us to stay, where the rest of the time, we caught attitude by the staff. I have video proof of needed.

Came here for breakfast twice. Excellent!!! Down home family breakfast better than what my mama made
