Cozy. Quaint. Intimate. These are a few of the words that come to mind when I think about The Delachaise. This wine bar is a neighborhood gem, and its late hours make it an ideal stop on the ride home. The food menu is diverse and eclectic. Even the French fries aren't what one would expect as they are fried in goose fat and served with savory sauces for dipping. You can't go wrong here. The bar proudly displays over 200 bottles of wine. Seating is available at the bar, at highboys, and on the patio overlooking the famous streetcar line.Even though orders have to be placed at the bar, the kitchen staff is kind and the other staff work quickly to clear the tables of dirty dishes. This gastro pub, as it is also known is perfect for groups and couples alike. I already have in mind what I will order on my next visit.Enjoy!

It's a wine bar not a cocktail haven. The food I tried was okay though I wouldn't recommend the wings. In fact, I wouldn't recommend going on the night I did because I feel like the guys behind the bar just wanted a quiet evening with no business. I've been here before and had a good time but I'll wait a while before I come back. Many more places to meet for a drink. No pics included. I couldn't be bothered.

I happened into this restaurant/bar last night. It proclaims itself to be a wine bar. I asked for a glass of Merlot and was told, "we don't have that." I then asked for a glass of Pinot Noir and the bartender begrudgingly shoved it at me across the bar. I asked if i could order from the menu. He handed me a menu and told me to order from him and someone would bring me the food when it was ready. I ordered the herbsaint oysters. It was okay...not worth the $20 price tag. I then ordered the prime rib meatballs as that sounded interesting. When those arrived, the sauce was piping hot, but the meatballs were cold in the center. (I guess they did not microwave them long enough.) Anyway, for a city so forward leaning re: alcohol, this place should try to keep up with their peers.

Known more as a wine bar, the Delachaise serves great cocktails and bites that you can share or devour all by yourself. Bar service is great and attentive. If you're looking for ambience, just take a look at my photos and you can see that it's a nice spot for a drink after work or a date night.

At the corner of Ambiance and Deliciousness lies the Delachaise...right on the St. Charles street car line. Try a fancy cocktail with the cheeseboard of your dreams while stepping back in time.

I've been going here for over the last 10 years. I used to really love it, but over the years the bartenders have been getting worse and worse. I will say last night was the worst experience I ever had. My date and I came in and sat at the bar for a drink. It was a Friday night and it was very empty. We ordered our drinks and was ready to close our tab. It wasn't busy at all at the bar. We kindly asked the bartender "hey can we close out our tab?" She didn't look at us and 1 minute later she shouted "DUDE I HEARD YOU GIVE ME A FUCKING SECOND. YOU MUST BE FROM THE WESTBANK!"......... My date and i sat there in confusion. She was the biggest bitch ever. She was the Caucasian woman with brown hair probably in her late 30's.Once we pulled out a stack of money she started apologizing. No excuses to be a cunt.I know the owner Evan Hayes, wonderful person. It's upsetting he has a disgusting bartender like her.

The Delachaise is a dynamo on the Garden District / Uptown dining and drinking scene. The pub grub is gourmet quality with the pricing and portions of a greasy spoon. The wine, beer, and spirits selections are all best in class with bottles from all corners of the globe. The seating inside and out--pick from tables, booths, high-tops, or stools--accommodates parties of various sizes and conversational aspirations. The bartenders are incredibly friendly and willing to help with menu questions. I had the lamb sliders, a daily special. The plate came with enough food for two meals--essentially two personal hoagies cut into quarters. My gf got the fries with two delectable sauces. I'm eager to return and try some of the other dishes.

We had not been back in 10 years but fortunately it was a 3 minute walk from our crib so thus became our headquarters for the last trip. It became our last drink of the night spot. Sitting outside with the twinkle lights, a martini in one hand and a glass of wine in the other and the rumble of the Street Car going by is just perfect for reflecting on the day and life in general. Not particularly friendly and its a bit loud inside but still a gem of a place. We had a few cheese plates over the course of the week and they were very good.
