The Coop

I heard about this spot from my secretary, who told meI had to try it. I saw that opened at 6:30am, and I made sure to get there early. The menu was visible on the wall and the prices were perfect for breakfast. I got the baby back: grits, eggs, smoked sausage, and I ordered a side of fish. The total coast was $8, which is great! All the staff were friendly and didn't rush you to order. I am told the biscuits are amazing so will get the biscuit next time. This will be a place I go to frequently.

Chicken's Kitchen has some of the best food in the city so I had to visit the new breakfast location. The setup is similar and very easy to order. The staff is always A1. I decided to get the baby back which included grits, oatmeal or breakfast potatoes, eggs, 2 proteins and biscuit or toast. Everything was delicious.

Was here for the soft opening and a dozen times more. Now that they have found their rhythm, the service and the food are equally amazing! Such a fun team to visit with in the morning and everything in the menu I've tried has been great. The bbq shrimp and grits are the best I've had but they blew my mind this morning with a hot smashed potatoes and gumbo. Paired with delicious honey biscuit, it was a five star meal. Worth having to limit lunch to a banana, and certainly worth the trip to this easy to get to Gretna location. Thanks Chef!

As a huge fan of chickens kitchen I had to stop by for the breakfast and I tell you it didn't disappoint. My favorite is the shrimp and potatoes ( I don't eat grits). The sauces that the shrimp is in is soooo delicious. I've found myself going more than I'd like to admit but the food is a HIT every time!

I cannot believe I am the first person to review this place. Especially considering that every time I go here there is a line. Now people do not fret because the line moves quickly. The staff is courteous and efficient. This is owned by the same man that owns Chicken's Kitchen. If you have had the pleasure of eating that food, then you will not be disappointed in eating breakfast at The Coop. I am absolutely addicted to the fish and grits. The biscuit is the best one I have ever eaten. I tasted my husband's shrimp and grits and that was delish. This place has become an at least once a week indulgence for me. My question is, "Chicken, will you please open a sit down establishment?" My money will support any restaurant this man opens!
