The Blackbird Hotel

I can only comment on the live jazz the Hotel presents every 2nd & 4th Thursday of the month during Happy Hour. The trio is superb and the atmosphere in the pool/bar area is very inviting. My Wife and I have enjoyed this on 2 occasions, & we will certainly return

Blackbird is where laid-back cool meets low-key luxe. Think craft cocktails that whisper "I'm fancy," but not in an obnoxious way. The vibe? Like hanging out at your artsy friend's place, but they actually know how to mix drinks.The bartenders? Chill and sharp. The drinks? A playful spin on NOLA classics that make you say, "Why haven't I been drinking this my whole life?" Whether you're there to impress a date or just escape Bourbon Street chaos, The Blackbird's bar has you covered. It's the kind of place where you leave feeling cooler than when you walked in.Bonus points for the courtyard--perfect for sipping under string lights while convincing yourself you've entered a Wes Anderson movie.

*Review only for lobby bar* This is such a beautiful bar in such a beautiful hotel! So stunningly dark and lovely. The lobby bar is super cute. The bartenders are SUPER nice. I loved sitting and chatting with them and definitely want to swing by again. Along with the good vibes were great drinks. I had The Garden District first, which had Hendricks Flora gin, honey, elderflower, lemon, and egg white. It was quite light and refreshing. Perfect blend of citrus, liquor, and sweetness. I love a drink that's not overly sweet. I then tried the Blood & Spice, which had illegal mezcal, blood orange liqueur, jalapeño agave, and lime. It was a winner! I can't believe there was ever a time that I didn't like mezcal. This cocktail was perfectly balanced. The aesthetics of this place will draw you in but the cocktails will keep you in.

Such a beautiful spot for a day drink or night cap!! I love that Blackbird is tucked away in the LGD. It's super unassuming yet a eye-catching from the street, with it's sleek black exterior. I (can't yet!) comment on the rooms. But the bar makes for a wonderful, cozy evening. They have a great selection of both cocktails and wine. S/o to the amazing bartenders Cesar and Nick for being helpful and hospitable...I wasn't a guest at the hotel but it felt like I was! The backyard pool area is amazing! It's beautiful, relaxing, and has great photo ops, lol. To hang out by the pool, you'll need to purchase $25 of food/drinks (for locals) and $50 of food/drinks for non-locals. So, basically, purchase 2 drinks as a local and you're good. This is a lovely spot that I highly recommend. I'd love to gatekeep but, they deserve the business!
