Tessier Gourmet

We have purchased entrees and sides here several times. Some of my favorites are the Chicken Parmesan, Grillades, Enchiladas, and Meatloaf. They have cheese great cheese grits and many other tasty sides. Soups, quiche, along with chicken salad and pimento cheese are available too, My top pick is the chicken parm. There's is unique because they don't use the breading. That may sound unusual but it's yummy and cuts way back on the carbs. Most items come in 2 different sizes. One more family size and one more fit 1-2 people. You can also buy a lot of items either fresh or frozen. I do think it's important to note that items are not cheap, if you think of it as creating a meal and figure up how many people you feed, it's not much more than you would spend buying something out that's probably not that good. The owner's son is usually there when we drop by and he usually always helpful and nice! The shop is small but full of their homemade dishes as well as a nice variety of local products from artisans. I really appreciate that they support other locals! Drop in and buy something to try. You may decide the quality and convenience is worth the little extra cost!

Nearly everything I've had here has been fantastic (special shout out to the macaroni and cheese and mushroom dijon quiche)! There are plenty of vegetarian options which is a definite plus and it's not your generic fare. Creative recipes make me so happy and there is plenty to try here.Yes, Tessier is pricey, but I've found you do get quality ingredients. One long pull of melted cheese after you take the macaroni out of the oven shows you the love they put into hand-grating for maximum melt-age. You've just got to watch out and ask about pricing on some things because at times it's not clearly labeled.Stick to the fridges and freezers where the prices are really obvious! The one issue I've had with Tessier is actually related to our first visit. Hubs wanted to grab a bag of croutons to go with his tomato soup. We were informed that the croutons would be discounted because some had been left in the oven for far too long and were very dark. The words used were pretty much "we can't in good conscience sell these for full price." Hey, why not? Discount! He's not too picky. Except after leaving and checking my text receipt (you don't get to see the things being rung up as it's happening) we saw that first of all, the little bag of croutons was a ridiculous FIVE DOLLARS, and our discount on what ended up being half a bag that went to the birds was around forty cents.

Amazing food and fresh ingredients!! I love the lasagna and stuffed peppers. The personnel are so sweet and helpful. I had a great experience there.

I ordered the spicy beef hot tamales and they were fantastic! The flavor perfectly reminded of the hot tamales I used to get in Baton Rouge at Mufaloto's. Highly recommend you try these as they are amazing.

In a desperate search for cornbread dressing on Christmas Eve, I was cruising to Rouses and passed Tessier on Tyler. Saw they were open, but had no idea what they sold. Figured I would take a shot and called from the car. Sure enough, they had two kinds of dressing on hand. They saved the day! I bought the mushroom/oyster dressing and we loved it. Very tasty, well-balanced seasonings. There were lots of other delicious foods in the freezer, but I only got the dressing. Would trust all their food and recommend the store to anyone.

This is one of Louisiana"s finest. The owner's name is Pam. I found her by looking for tamales. She is one of the best tamales businesses I've seen over the years. But low and behold Pam was more than tamales she is one of La's gourmet gurus. I have had the stuff mini peppers, Bayou peppers, tamales, and believe me I have not been disappointed. The food is fresh, seasoned perfectly and done so that if you wanted to add more seasoning, you could without spoiling your meal. I was delighted to meet her and her great smile and personality. Pam is naturally New Orleans ie., welcoming, a good cook , and good service.. Pam, I understand is at the Folsom fresh market every week, she delivers both north and south shore. South shore on Wednesdays. Tamales are New Orleans size (big) delicious, great gravy, (did u ever try spreading ur tamale on french bread) OMG! I'm just now disclosing this to Pam, or on crackers yeow! hey hold up, don't knock it. When I was a kid we cried for real ice cream cones like other kids, my mom convinced us that her spreading ice cream on french bread was french, we accepted the explanation, she was french so it must have been true, it sure tasted good and filled us up. I'm going to try the cheddar and broccoli quiche next. Thanks Pam. You deserve 5 stars. "MO"

Very neat to place dine in. Great variety of menu for lunch and dinners. Their staff is very nice and gentle. Great services and taste of food is awesome.

Great food. Loved the tamales and the twice baked potatoes. Enchiladas were great as well. Will be getting more soon.

Tessier Gourmet was present at the 2016 Food Festival in New Orleans in Spanish Plaza. They were serving really tasty Tamales! Patrons had a choice of either a beef or a vegetarian option tamale. All served with cheese grits! Really enjoyed these tamales, so much so, will probably place an online order. Great job at the Festival Tessier; hope you are there next year!
