Sweet Soulfood

Always a pleasure coming here. Friendly staff. Incredible vegan homestyle food. As usual, I ordered the four plate option and decided to try a few different things this time - including the curry and the stuffed peppers. Everything was phenomenal and flavorful as it always is. Unfortunately, they were out of cornbread when I went and it's a must !!! But, I did go later than usual this time than I typically would.. Until next time !!

Amazing customer service and such a wide selection of delicious vegan sides to choose from, this spot is definitely my go-to when I'm craving clean soul food that makes me feel good inside. I really love their fried cauliflower and savory greens, and their vegan brownie tastes better than a dairy one! 8/10 I recommend this place when you're craving veggies or Caribbean food ~

Delicious and flavorful food in abundance! We were in town for a wedding weekend and didn't want to leave NOLA with out eating at Sweet Soulfood. And the excellent service and scrumptious food did not disappoint! My husband is often skeptical of veg soul food but he devoured all that was on his plate. There is open seating available and the ambiance is welcoming and gives a vibe of community. I will definitely stop here again during my next trip to New Orleans.

When I want to reward myself for a job well done, getting out of bed, or heck just surviving another day I go to Sweet Soulfood. See lemmme take ya back. I used to date this vegan that took me here and my life had never been the same! Much like their name, Sweet soulfood has just that , sweet helpful employees that make the experience just as good as the food . The food is always hot and fresh. It's such a unique way of combining vegan and soul. Theres not much more I can say other than RUN don't walk. You will not be disappointed! Also you get so much food, I've never missed a meal in my life and I still can't finish the portions in one sitting!

The food is amazing however my dining experience was extremely uncomfortable. I couldn't enjoy my food because it was so hot in the restaurant. The yams, Mac and cheese, gumbo, Brussels sprouts, red beans(banging with flavor), green juice was extremely sweet(). There was a mix up with our order but they fixed it quickly... I'll return in hopes that the air is fixed. I watched my friend eat because I could think of nothing but the heat... it was very busy but there were not so many people where it should have been that warm in the building. Great food, poor dining experience... it's just too hot to dine in a hot

This food truly hit my soul. Some of the tastiest vegan food I've had in my life.Had eggplant lasagne, Mac n cheese, orange cauliflower, jambalaya Also tried some vegan gumbo, creole curry and sweet potato.The ladies working here were so nice, southern hospitality is definitely a thing. They let me try a few items before making my final decision. Can't forget the cornbread. Will return

Came here before heading to the airport and it was wonderful. The food tasted amazing! My favorites were the barbecue cauliflower and the fried cauliflower with sweet heat sauce. The macaroni and cheese was excellent, as was the cornbread. I haven't liked collard greens or okra much in the past, but I enjoyed both here. Bread pudding was also great.It's cafeteria-style and the line moves quickly. Wasn't super busy when we arrived shortly after they opened at 11 but by noon it was pretty full.Staff were friendly and wanted to make sure you knew that everything was vegan, even if it looked like meat.Great value for the amount of food you get too. My spouse and I each got a four-item plate which essentially served as 2-3 meals for each of us throughout our travel day.Highly recommend to anyone in New Orleans looking for vegetarian or vegan options.

We were visiting the Crescent City and came across the restaurant on Yelp. We arrived in time to order. I was so excited! I ordered the orange cauliflower, curried vegetables over rice, okra gumbo with a bit of rice, and the mac & cashew cheese and a green goodness! It was sooooo good! My hubby ordered the sweet potatoes, greens, rice with the "pot liquor" from the red beans and the Mac & cashew cheese. It was all very delicious! It hit the spot for me.While serving cafeteria style, they ask if you have any nut allergies due to the cashew Mac & cheese. It was a comfortable environment with a nice mural of Dr. Sebi on the wall. Definitely a place that I'd visit again. Good food. Good people. Good environment and good prices!

I will jump on this train. Fantastic vegan food and I'm not vegan but I try to avoid dairy. Hard to do unless you go to a vegan place :) Enjoyed everything I had. The ramalaud sauce was so good with fried mushrooms I bought one to take home. The Mac and cheese was good, not the best but better than a lot as it didn't have a strange taste as most do. Not quite normal Mac but still good. The creole curry was great. Bought cornbread cause had to and glad I did. Bread pudding was delicious! The green juice was awesome. Really dig the place, can't wait to come back to try their ice creams but electricity was out so they had none :(

I just popped in and grabbed to go which was perfect. The food is easy to take on the road and still tasted great once I got back to my hotel. They give you SO much food for such a reasonable price. The only bad part is narrowing down to which combo to order.
