Swamp Monster Restaurant

The service was great. The food not so much. The place was less than inviting. It was dark and overwhelming. We ordered a burger and a Po'Boy with a large fries to share. The hot sausage Po'Boy was just a frozen patty cut in half. The burger was decent. The meal was not worth $40 in my opinion. Sorry I didn't think about pictures.

Flavors were good particularly the sauces on the po boys, but it's already missing that extra 10% (which I'd call "soul") that makes it truly special. And this place is only 90 minutes north of the Crescent. You truly do start to lose a bit of that magic the further north you go.The portion sizes for the price paid leaves a lot to be desired but we both left about full after eating a po boy each with fries, no leftovers. Each po was $20 after tax.The decor is cool but see we are already getting into gimmicks and NOLA is only 90 minutes away. See how quick it gets kitschy?Good recipes, but lacking soul(can't help that - you either have it or you don't)3.75 / B-

I was in the area looking at things to do and noticed this restaurant with a theme, and I do love a good theme. Parking is plenty, street parking. I got the Filthy Swamp Thing to eat there and the OMG Burger to take home to eat later. It was all so delicious! I could not finish the Filthy Swamp Thing there, so I brought half of it home. Prices were a bit on the high side, but everything was so huge, it was worth it. Service was amazing. The waitress was very friendly. I will be back if I am in the area again!

Awesome place that we dropped into after leaving Bogue Chitto State Park. The debris fries were tasty, the burgers well cooked and flavorful. I had a swamp monster burger, it was really good, maybe delete the jalapenos if you don't like really spicy. Decor is kitchsy and cool. Owner and servers were super friendly and looking to please.

Well first time Here. Ordered a large takeout order to try a variety.Must say walking in the ambiance and decor is super cool. Waitstaff was super nice and attentive. Now on to the Food. Absolutely loved the shrimp and corn soup was everything its supposed to be and very flavorful. Filthy Swamp Burrito was also very good loved the amount of cheese in it and the sauces to put over it definitely compliment it well. The Jolie fries were also a family hit. The Cajun cigars were definitely good also but wished there had been 3-4 to an order instead of 2. The Cajun fries were good as far as fries go. The shrimp po boy was average neither bad or real good. the Crab jalapeños bites left something to be desired kinda like a crab cake hushpuppy slightly overcooked and not all that good. All that being said overall pretty good and will definitely return to try other menu items.

They could hold back on seasoning; very salty almost to the point of not being able to eat the food.I will not return not because of the food, but the price. We ordered two burgers and a poboy. The price was $55.00. You don't even get fries with your orders!

I gotten short roast beef it was amazing I be going back when I'm in town I really enjoyed it

The atmosphere is fun and sets the vibe for your experience. Every server and person who worked there was so friendly and helpful. The service was on point and the food.. the food.. was.. amazing!Unique and classic items to choose from. Our group ordered different items and shared to try everything out. Boudin Balls, Alligator Bites and the Frog legs. Every single one was delicious. We all then ordered our own Filthy Swamp Thang. This unique dish is massive and is field with so many different flavors that complement each other. We all had to take most of it home because it was so big. It was delicious the second time too at home. Highly recommend!!
