They have everything you need. It also has hardware, clothing, and a Hunt Bros. Prices are reasonable considering Grand Isle is a remote town.

This is an amazing supermarket, far off the beaten path. To the best of my knowledge there are only two supermarkets on Grand Isle. The "other one," and this, the Best One.First time I came in I was absolutely AMAZED at the variety of goods on offer. It's as if a hardware store, butcher shop, deli, hot bar, liquor store, souvenir shop, bait & tackle store, casual clothing shop, and grocery store were all thrown into a blender and this is what poured out. Surprisingly, despite being more than an hours drive from a competing supermarket, the prices are fair; much lower than expected.I joked to my friends, "You could spend hours in here trying to discover what they *don't* have." They truly seem to have it all.OK; Car tires. I didn't see car tires. But I'll bet if one asked they'd get them!Highly recommended.

The most unbelievable "supermarket" you could ever imagine. It was very entertaining just to walk around and browse. Of course I had to pick up a few irrestible items I didn't need and which I will forever cherish. Unique souvenirs of this spectacular tourist destination. Got a delicious freshly made sandwich in the deli for only $5. Best selection of every day grocery items and a large array of specialty seafood and convenience items. Truly the most memorable experience I ever had in a "supermarket"!!!

Our latest purchases...besides groceries: A Guy Harvey t-shirt for my brother, iceberg ice cube trays, a progresso mini-mandoline and party umbrellas for drinks.I resisted puzzles, the anchors (why do they tempt me so), buzzy balls (cocktails in a ball that were $75 for a case), jelly shoes, cute beach hats, a knockoff Ed Hardy style shirts. Also, they have a fresh made pizza kiosk in the back of the store.

I have such fond memories of this store.Grand isle was the vacation destination of choice during my youth. We came to the island more than any other spot, so I learned to love it. One of the reasons is the Sureway. As the only grocery on Grand Isle, this store is unique. While I have been coming here for over 20 years, not much has really changed. It is an old style store so it isn't the biggest, but it makes due.One of the coolest things about the store is that since it is the only one, the different types of people you see inside cover all spectrum of society. You may be rubbing elbows with a local or some dude with a multi million dollar camp, all here to stock up.The alcohol selection is usually pretty good. Everyone knows that while on the island it is a requirement to drink, so the Sureway makes sure you don't run out.

Sureway is the only grocery store in Grand Isle, and I'd say it serves that purpose quite well. You won't find everything there, but you will find most things.I know some residents complain about the prices, but seriously, what do you expect? It's not exactly convenient or cheap to keep a grocery store stocked out in the middle of nowhere. If you want to save a few bucks, you can always grocery shop up the bayou (and I often do). I would also suggest checking the dates on your items. I've ended up with a few expired items, probably because things sit on the shelf longer than they would in a more populated area.

I have been going to grand isle for several years now.. I have visited now 10 times... we always bring our basics and then go to the sureway to get everything else.. they have just about everything... it's a smaller store but you can find most of what you need.. also has many hardware items, fishing items, crab boiling pots, souvenirs, etc. just about everything you need. It's very convenient!

I used to shop at Sureway until I realized that they change the dates on the meats. I purchased chicken and after I got it home, I realized that it was rotten. I took a closer look at the label and realized that there was actually two labels on the package. The top label said that the meat had been packed two days before. When I scraped the top label off and saw the bottom label, I saw that the chicken had actually been packaged two weeks before. No wonder it was rotten. This is not the first time I have seen more than one label on the package of the meat but I had seen the second label before and did not purchase that package of meat. Also, I have health issues and because of my disease, sometimes I have to use the restroom when I am out. I was told that there was NO WAY I could use their restroom even though I was ill. I was told that I had to go down to the convenience store and use their restroom. The owner of the grocery store was very rude about me even daring to ask about the restroom. I will spend the time to drive over the bridges to the Frank's store in Golden Meadow and when we return to the island for vacation, I will make sure that I stock up on everything we might need before we go to the island. I will NEVER set foot inside the Sureway again.I will pay more attention to the yelp reviews in the future and the convenience of having a store on the island was not worth it. I will pay the $3 for the toll to go over the bridge to the mainland in the future.
