I love St. James. The staff is first class, lots of cheese and great food. I just wish I could come during fondue night, that must be amazing. This time I had the Hot Muffaletta and it was great. Plus a small side of Mac n Cheese. Always a must. They didn't have the King Cake Cheesecake BUT I learned the regular cheesecake is the same without the decoration. It is a Chevre cheesecake and a little different but very good.We always come here after riding in our parade. St. James is very welcoming, even when we have been soaking wet. They also have a small outside dining area on the parade route so you can eat and catch beads.

We went o to this cheese shop and found a small selection of cheese with labels a little too small to read so we picked up the place card and an employee snapped at us. Needless to say we immediately left, never to return. Shame.... I spend a LOT on good cheese.... Their loss.

Overall: This place is part restaurant, part cheese/grocery shop. We went through for brunch on New Years day. There was no line, which was nice since it seemed like every other place nearby had huge waits. Our bagel sandwiches were very good. It was a nice pleasant place to pop into for a bite.Food: 4Service: 3Value: 3Atmosphere: 4Food: I ordered the 'Pigskin' (pulled pork sandwich on a bagel) and my girlfriend ordered the smoked salmon on a bagel. Both had nice layers of cheese included and the pulled pork had some nice caramelized onions. Very good sandwiches. I wish they served some coffee/juice to go with their brunch.Service: The man taking orders was friendly and helpful, and even suggested we get coffee next door and bring it in since they don't sell coffee. Our food was brought out quickly. You do have to bus your own tables though.Value: Our meals were ~$15 each. They had several premium ingredients on them, but still ended up being a lot for relatively small sandwiches.Atmosphere: Given the split between dining and grocery/cheese, they have the shop broken up as well. They have several shelves and coolers of cheese and other ingredients, with about 2/3 of the restaurant reserved for tables for dining in. There was a nice couch area as well.

After a morning full of walking and exploring, St. James is the perfect place to relax and recharge. Maybe a fifteen minute walk from the French Quarter, it's definitely worth the trip. The space is warm and inviting. There are a variety of seating options, including a small patio out front when the weather permits. There is a small grocery area for gourmet treats and treasures to take home with you. The restaurant offers counter service, so just hop in line. There is an offering of sandwiches, salads, and soups. But, truth be told, I was only there for one thing: BYO charcuterie!!! Emily took care of me at the counter. There is are three, five, and seven item boards to choose from. I went with the five item board and gave the team free rein to choose for me. I had them add a glass of wine that would best fit the board they prepared for me. I was completely blown away! I honestly couldn't have picked a better selection myself. Presentation was excellent. And the parings from cheese, to spreads was perfect. I enjoyed my time at St. James. It was a nice break from the heaviness of the creole and Cajun food I usually eat when I'm in town. I recommend stopping in and checking them out!

Was worried there would be a line, but we got there when they first opened and were able to get a table right away. Order at the counter, wander around and look at all the cheeses, meats and charcuterie necessities available for purchase. Staff is friendly and the place is spacious and clean. We ordered the 7 item charcuterie! So delicious with a nice variety and a basket of delicious warm baguette. My husband ordered the Croque Monster and I ordered the Ham & Brie and added fresh cucumber.Everything was sooo good! Nice portions and the side salad was great too. The food literally took me back to our time in the Netherlands and Paris! Excellent! Will definitely be back!

Its really nice to find a deli that highlights fresh, quality ingredients and puts them together thoughtfully in a sandwich that tastes great.Staff was friendly and the prices were pretty good considering the higher quality. The cheese in particular was great on both sandwiches I tried and stood up well to all the other ingredients.Def worth a stop if you are in the area and enjoy European style sandwiches.

To Die For salads and grilled cheese sandwiches. Fresh ingredients served up mindfully with a friendly smile. Order at the counter and they will bring the food to the table. Local cheeses and other ingredients also available for sale. Huge portions. We split a Brie and Ham sandwich with tender and flavorful ham topped with velvety melted Brie. Wow! Mouthwatering on perfectly crisped bread. We also split a salad full of fresh greens, nuts, cranberries. So much flavor packed into a huge bowl of goodness. Also big enough to share. Zing from a light citrus dressing balanced out the richness of the cheese sandwich wonderfully. Great place to stop with friends or grab and go. You won't be disappointed

This was a really great experience. We came in for brunch and got a frittata slice, a grilled cheese, and a few mimosas too. The service was really quick, and it was easy to add to our order by returning to the counter. Let me tell you, this grilled cheese was divine. Such a unique and rich blend of cheeses, perfectly melty and sharp all at the same time. I only wish it had a tomato soup to dip.The cheese selection in the shop is great too. I grabbed and cow and goat blend, really unique. I would love to return here for the full cheese board experience.

St. James Cheese Company offers a hip, laid-back vibe with delicious, fresh offerings. I tried the blueberry, almond, and chicken salad, which was light yet satisfying, with vibrant flavors. Paired with a refreshing pomegranate kombucha, the meal was both unique and energizing. It's the perfect spot for those seeking a trendy, wholesome dining experience.

All I can say is I LOVE CHEESE!!! it's one of my favorite things to eat at any time and St. James always delivers. They have an awesome variety for all cheese lovers and I love when they share details and history of the cheese and meat. The menu is amazing with a variety of salads, soups and awesome sandwiches and has great wine selections as well. The downtown cafe on Tchoup is cute and perfect for lunch, meetings or to grab a snack. The manchego salad & Cheese & Charcuterie Plates are my favs. Try it...you will love it. 2 locations uptown & downtown. What to ExpectOperating on the premise that cheese should be fun, we try to make each visit to our shop unique and unforgettable. It is a playground for the cheese rookie, the rind-sniffing expert, and the curd curious. These are our people. St James cheese mongers and guests are encouraged to try every cheese, every day, to ensure that each cheese is being offered at its peak.
