Put simply it's the real thing in the catfish capital of the world.Service like a good umpire. If it would have been bad we would have noticed it.Ambience just the type of place for a catfish place. Perfectly decorated for what it is. You can take a nice photo outside.

we had passed by Spahrs before but never went it so decided to try it. the service was good and quick and the food overall was good.we started off with the crawfish cornbread and onion strips; both were really good for taste and portion size. we then got the fish with cream sauce on top, shrimp platter and a side salad. the fish was really good and the portion size was good. the shrimp platter was small and not as good. we then got bread pudding for dessert which was also very goodoverall good food and nice ambiance

Not a bad spot at all - inside is nice and the restaurant itself is right on the water. Great service and good food. I ordered the hamburger po boy - it was huge - basically two hamburgers! Sweet potato fries were good.

Every time I pass there the parking lot is full. I was curious so I drove out there with my wife. She said "everything was good", the service was good, the place was packed like Moscas, lol. The bill was about $100 for the two of us, but it was a ton of food and it was cooked perfectly.

We stopped here on our way to Alabama. The location is very convenient off of the highway. We had a party of 5 (2 adults, 3 kids) and were sat right away even with a rather full restaurant. If you can get a seat near the windows at the back of the restaurant, the view of the water is beautiful!We stopped for a quick lunch, so my kids ordered off the kids menu (chicken nuggets and the kids burger). The kids burger is the size of a slider - perfect for a child. The chicken nuggets are more like a popcorn chicken. Both kids mentioned that they loved the fries here. Our oldest ordered the hamburger steak with fries.My husband and I didn't want to order large portions, so he ordered a cup of seafood gumbo and I ordered the sampler appetizer (which we shared). The sampler was perfect! It included crawfish pies (a little spicy for my taste, but delicious otherwise), mini crab cakes, hush puppies, crawfish queso and onion strips. The queso and onion strips were my favorite! We will have to return to try out the poboys and pasta.

It was ok. Food was fine. I think I had my expectations pretty high so that's on me. The roumelade boil shrimp salad was so perfect. The fried green tomatoes were amazing and delectable. Burnt chips on our appetizer artichoke dip but the dip was ok. No solid meat in the gumbo but it came with the entree we ordered $42 platter

Whenever we have friends or family from out of state visit. This is our go to place. The bloody Mary's are spectacular. The view of the water on the wall of windows is serene. It is t a touristy type place it is a local joint that if you know you know. The food is always excellent and the staff is always friendly. My favorite is the catfish. And it has never disappointed. Crisp tender full of flavor.

Family owned and operated. It's a great place to stop on your way from NOLA to Morgan City. Loved the soup and half sandwich--a cup of gumbo and half a popcorn shrimp po boy. Added this place to my list of must return !

My parents + I are visiting LA from MN + were looking for a southern meal at a well-loved and established restaurant. Spahr's had literally everything we were looking for. The food was delicious - I wish I had room to try multiple menu items, as it was hard to pick - we landed on the Shrimp Gumbo, Po-boys, and the Catfish Chips - topped it off with Beignets. It opened at 11:00a, we arrived at 11:40a and it was already busy! That was a good sign. Us 3 sat at the bar for full service + Walter was amazing - thank you Walter for making our experience truly special. We also stepped out back and saw 2 Alligators + a lil turtle. Spahr's will be a no skip spot for us always - hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

A friend took me here for dinner tonight. I had never been. I ordered the catfish fillet with crawfish etouffe on top of it. In a word, incredible!Best thing I've eaten in a year !!!Photos are attached.I'm a fan!!!
