Southern Maid Donuts

Wow! This little place has awesome donuts. Nothing crazy, just classic simple delicious donuts. Some of the best I've ever had. They are hot and fresh. I didn't get a picture but the Apple Fritter was amazing. The service was top notch.

The box says "melt in your mouth." Unfortunately, nothing could be farther from the truth. I arrived at 6:30 am, hoping to get some warm, fresh donuts. All it took was one bite to realize that these donuts were leftovers from the previous day. Cold, dry, and just not good. The Bavarian cream had a sour taste to it as well. Won't be back.

We drive from Baton Rouge to Prairieville for these donuts. They are just delicious. The dough isn't too soft or too thick! They're just right!

Best donuts in the surround area! Melt in your mouth is not an understatement!!! Staff is super sweet and cheerful. We drive 20 minutes from Baton Rouge just for these specially. And they're just as great the next day

I haven't had the pleasure of visiting this donut place, but my co-worker lives around the corner from them and swore they were the best. She finally brought them to work to share, and she was right. I've always been a pretty loyal Mary Lee fan, but these are right up there at the same caliber. Unfortunately I don't live close by, but if I did I'd definitely consider them a competitor to Mary Lee for many and I'm sure they'd do well.The donuts are small in size, which I actually prefer. The flavor of the traditional glazed is a bit buttery but not too much so. They kind of have that melt in my mouth, light and fluffy donut taste and texture that I love. If anyone is ever in the Dutchtown/Prairieville area, plan to check them out!

Excellent service!!! Another great yelp find. Don't be scared of these "little pigs in a blanket " they are sooooooo good!! Not all dough and great tasting sausage. Do yourself a favor and buy the dozen to share or enjoy yourself lol.

Nice surprise at the work this morning. Someone brought little sausage rolls from Southern Maid. First time sampling anything from this place. Boy were they good. A spicy sausage swaddled in a soft warm roll. They really hit the spot with a cup of coffee. Makes me want to try some of their Donut's!

Came to this donut shop after my son's basketball game. Arrived about 10ish. Not too much of a selection. Not sure if it was because of the time we arrived (late morning). The donuts are okay. I've had better. The workers were nice and even asked me if I wanted my donut warmed up. Would I come back, ehhh...probably not.

These are chain quality and small. The only nice thing is the drive thru window on a cold or rainy day. I don't understand why anyone would drive here from somewhere else when they pass some really amazing donut shops along the way. To each their own so try it for yourself and I hope you enjoy it! It's just not on my list and I live very close by.
