South of Philly

I learned about South of Philly when Uber Eats had a special deal that I took them up on. I tried the Philly cheesesteak just based on the name of the restaurant and found it to be pretty close to what I have had before in Philadelphia. I would've given them five stars, but I wasn't all that big of a fan of their bread, which surprises me since finding a great baguette, is usually simple in South Louisiana, asbestos, since we are so close to New Orleans, where Lederheimer has their facility and provisions nearly every restaurant in the area, A few days later, I took advantage of the Uber Eats offer again and ordered the same thing, finding their consistency to be very good. Unfortunately the Uber Eats special for this restaurant ended. I'm sure that I would pick up food there again, but without the free delivery and special pricing, it makes more sense to just drive there myself since it's not that far away.

The food here is awesome and people always nice! I highly recommend the Philly's and burgers.

Best Philly cheesesteaks I've personally ever had. We get them with pepper Jack cheese and grilled onions but they have several options. I love to dip it in their house au jus sauce. The onion rings are homemade and the perfect crunch! I go to both Prairieville and Gonzales locations and they are always consistent in taste and quality.

The cheese steaks are very good. We normally order the garden. Bread is good and soft. Fries are fresh cut and tasty. You order when you walk in and staff is friendly and attentive. At times the wait time to get your food can be lengthy. We also have had mistakes on orders but they always take care of it quickly. Restaurant could definitely be cleaner.

Love this place. Chicken Philly is amazing (add grilled onions). Also, they have the best French fries in the parish!!! Staff are friendly and service is quick.

Great selection of interesting menu options. Loved the eggrolls, cheese steak, shrimp po-boy and fried oysters. Oysters were unique and quite good. French fries and onion rings were par.

The burger is great. Poboy is the best with Amorosa bread and thin cut Ribeye.Great service very fast fresh cook.

Place has changed for the worst. Used to be my favorite. The meat and quality is below what it used to be. And 13.95 for a poor boy that u see all the bread when it's served is ridiculous. I'd rather pay more for a great sub but seems they don't care. And why when u leave a credit card tip it does not go to the girl that waited on you and got your order correct and gave good service. I used to go there all the time. The last few years the quality of the food has really gone down.The meat on the Philly cheese steak sandwich is fatty and chewy.
