Soul's Seafood Market

Soul's is my neighborhood go-to for crawfish. On a good day, Soul's crawfish are hot, juicy, plump and sooo tasty. They have the flavor profile that I like down to a science- cistrusy, spicy, well seasoned. However, due to a rare freeze in Louisiana, the crawfish in the area suffered. The batch that I just endured was clearly pre-frozen, and over cooked to compensate for the precooked temperature. This caused the meat to be of an undesirable texture and easily broken. I don't blame soul's for freezing the crawfish they invested their capital into before the weather change- I blame myself for not having the patience to wait until conditions improved enough so that I would be more likely to enjoy the $9.99/lb crawfish I so longed for. I know better now. I also bought a fish plate with 2 fried fillets of some strange type of fish. I won't be ordering that again, though the fries were perfect.

Phoned in an order for 5lbs of crawfish and a shrimp poboy.. Was able to park out front and easily pick up and pay for my order inside. Not the best location or storefront, but the crawfish we took home was extraordinary and the Shimp Poboy alone was enough to feed two!

The oyster poboy was by far the worst I've ever tasted the oysters were expired and had a weird smell they weren't fried to order the lettuce and tomato were rotten and brown I got home with it and had to call to tell them I couldn't eat it at my inconvenience I had to drive 29 minutes to return the sandwich for a refund

Great food always get shrimp poboy but it's always a little overcooked but still delicious.

Maaaaaaan I just ordered a damn oyster poboy and fries. Total came up to a little over $15. I get home and it's DISGUSTING! The oysters are unseasoned and the breading is falling off which tells me they probably refried some shit. The fries were greasy and limp as hell. I don't feel like going back, so I'm writing this damn review and eating the bread. That's how bad it is. I took all the oysters off because I'm scared it'll give me food poisoning. Only supporting Black owned businesses uptown from now on.

Phoned in an order for 5 lbs of boiled crawfish with potatoes and corn alone with a shrimp poboy and was told our order would be ready in 7 minutes.. This location is not in the best neighborhood and the storefront they operate out of is tiny, but when we arrived our order was ready, we were able to quickly pay and minutes later we were home feasting on our 5 lbs of crawfish and the huge shrimp poboy. The crawfish was fresh of mixed sizes with some huge and was delightfully spicy! So if you are in the mood for great crawfish that can be easily ordered and picked up I highly recommend Soul's Seafood Market. And again FYI this small seafood market is not in the best location, but their crawfish is so fresh and super spicy it is well worth the trip!

Great prices great turkey necks with the right spices. If you don't like a lil heat don't eat.

This is a small location but the prepared seafood was a good price and was delicious l. We went in a holiday weekend so the line was oh the door. This is a local place they are overly polite but they are fast and we enjoyed the crawfish!!

I specifically asked them not to overcook my shrimp for my po boy and not only was the shrimp hard as a brick but they were old ! The WORST po boy I ever had .
