We heard this place was great and it held up to the reputation in the other reviews.My wife got the fried chicken that people said was great and she agreed. I got fried catfish and it was moist, light and flaky like it should be. The coating was crispy and cooked just right. It is in my top 5 of catfish dishes I have had. We also found lots item in the market they have in the same area. They have lots of pickled items, and mixes of baking items cookies cakes and biscuits. Lots gifts jams and jellies as well. They also had Pizza and dessert ice cream or snowballs. This is great find and worth stopping in if your in town or passing through they have lunch and dinner specials so the menu will have a great variety. If you order be patient it is worth the wait. The staff is super nice and friendly. Thanks for great experience Scoops!

Visiting in the area for the weekend from Illinois. Was told of this local store/restaurant in Folsom. Has some indoor and outdoor sitting. We ordered the seafood platter, red beans and sausage and fried softshell crab. Mixed up the sides with fried okra, turnip greens and sweet potato fries. Besides having a little bit of a mixup with a couple sitting next to us on a couple of our sides, I would definitely recommend stopping out having a bite to eat. Might have a little bit of a wait getting your food but it might be worth it if you're not in a hurry.

The food was hot and delicious. We ate outside the staff was very far and accommodating. I'll definitely be back.

They have exceptional fried chicken! Service is always great, and I recommend it for anyone looking for a family spot.

My Daughter and I were visiting family and they took us to Scoops on our last evening there. I ordered the chicken fried steak (which I was told was delicious) and double fried okra as my sides. Well, the CFS was very good and flavorful the okra was cooked to perfection, the mashed potatoes that came with it was just mashed potatoes. The most notable item that they had was the warm bread roll that came with all the meals. I have NEVER tasted a roll that was so decadent, light but, firm, just the perfect bit of outside crustiness but so buttery soft. So if you get a chance to go, then go. It is worth it. I also, heard several customers stating that the crawfish were the best.

After waiting over an hour for some of our food to arrive, it was not good. Rubbery catfish and stale shrimp. Okra was not bad, (only 8 pieces though-really?!?) Never got the onion rings and had to go refill our own drinks. The manager (?) was very rude to the waitress and the other lady that was helping and the entire restaurant was very chaotic. But after waiting for over an hour someone brought us some food and said the rest would be right out. We waited another 15 minutes while we watched other tables (who arrived after us) receive their food. When I finally had enough I stood up to just pay so I could leave and our waitress (nice lady) brought us our bill. Asked if we wanted anything else (I said since we couldn't get the rest of our meal, I highly doubt that was possible). She didn't even know we hadn't received our onion rings. No communication between staff, not knowing how to run a kitchen and poor quality food that was barely edible. They don't deserve a single star, but zero stars wasn't an option. Avoid this overpriced, poorly run excuse for a restaurant at all costs!!!

One of my favorite places to eat. Everything you order here is homemade by the best cooks! Then too it off with superb ice creams and floats however you like them. Fried chicken is the best! Fried fish I love abs order often. Love their slaw and baked beans are so yummy!

I've eaten here a few times since this past summer. It was ok, but nothing spectacular. The best thing I've eaten from here were the boiled crabs. They were cold. I don't know why everyone up here thinks this is fine. Why can't y'all boil a couple times in the afternoon, advertise those times, flash a hot boiled crabs sign and post to FB? I think your business would grow tremendously! The second best thing I've had here was the fried catfish! Nothing taste shattering but very acceptable for fried catfish. I'll eat here again when crawfish season starts and then I'll see.

The boiled crawfish and shrimp are marvelous so go gettya some when hungry for some spicy seafood, there in season or anything else, it's all good!!!!

This place was gracious enough to take our order 10 minutes before closing time. The indoor seating is closed but there are a few tables and chairs outside which is where we sat to eat. Good home-cooked type menu options. Burgers to plate lunch style. The food was good and they even left the light on for us until we were done eating. And picked up our trash! The workers were definitely Covid compliant. We will be stopping here again. Thank you for a good warm meal after a long day working!
