Sam's Southern Eatery

It was my second time coming here. Once again, it did not disappoint. I ordered the three piece fish plate with two sides (fries and fried okra). My food was deliciously good. My fish was piping hot. Both of the ladies (one in drive thru and one in the lobby) taking orders were warm, friendly, and provided excellent customer service. The lady who took our order provided us with a courtesy drink to make up for the longer than usual wait ( we may have waited about 20 minutes). The worth was so worth it, though.

Good was actually delicious. Service was a bit iffy. I called to place my order, the first time I was put on hold for over 5mins. The second time I called in, my order was taken immediately. I wanted the Mac and cheese but they were out of it. No biggie it was like 7:30pm and they close at 9 I think. So I got the red beans and potato salad which was AMAZING. The flavor was good. A bit greasy but nothing a napkin couldn't dap off. Next time I'll opt of the lemon, because I am not a fan of lemon on my seafood. So if that's the only compliment I have then that tells you a great deal. Will definitely recommend if you're ever in the Laplace area and look for hot food. I paid $15.14 for all of this and it was worth every penny.

Terrible Mac & Cheese! (I'm not picky either.) I like boxed Mac and Cheese but I don't know what this was. It had absolutely NO flavor but was bright orange. If you have "Southern Eatery" as part of your logo, then you need to have decent Mac and Cheese.Staff was very friendly (which is why I gave 3 stars instead of 2).

First off, excuse the bite I took out of my fish before taking a photo I was in town to do photography for an event. I drove from Atlanta, GA. I knew when I got to Louisiana that I wanted some good food. I took to Yelp and this was the very first place that popped up. Service was very fast. We only waited 10 minutes for our food. Ambiance was very chill. The food was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! Fish was fried to PERFECTION! Literally PERFECTION ! Fries were great also and the tartar sauce seemed to be homemade. It was such a dope match to the catfish. I will definitely be returning if I come back to Laplace ! Highly recommend !

First time eating here and I have to say the food is pretty good. What I really enjoyed is that there is an option for grilled seafood and not fried. Nowadays everywhere you go there is only fried seafood option. Also they have the convenience of picking up through the drive through window.

The food is very tasty and not too pricey, I don't think they use local shrimp that's the only downside.

Service was good. Girl at counter was polite. Brought our food to us when it was ready. Served in to go boxes. Nice when you have left overs but inconvenient while eating at the small tables due to box having to be open. Food was alright. Shrimp poboy I would do scribe as more of a shrimp hotdog. 5 shrimp on mine, 6 on wife's. Not much flavor on shrimp but not bad. Also had some wings. Wings were fried, sauce came in to go cup. Again, not a huge fan of serving this way. You're left with dipping and not having enough room to sauce entire wing or saucing them yourself in box. Kids had fish and shrimp. Again, not much seasoning but it's for kids. Fries were store bought, possibly like a great value brand. Pretty much threw most of them away. Food wasn't bad but definitely nothing I'd go out of my way for. Also, location on map is wrong.

This place is on Airline on the way into LaPlace. I gotta say, it isn't bad. It's a diner type place and that few times we have stopped in, the food was pretty good. I like the fish sandwich. The bread is soft, the catfish is well cooked and seasoned and the veggies are fresh. The Mr. likes the hamburgers. It's got a diner type vibe, but it's comfy and clean. The murals on the wall are bold and fun. I have never had bad service, sometimes they are a little busy and come across as dry. The to go business seems steady. I like that this is a local business and it seems like that owners are here often.

Food 9/10 - I got the shrimp Po Boy and it was everything you'd expect from a south Louisiana food spot. Shrimp were big and tasty, the bread was solid as well. It would've been 10/10 but the fries were slightly over cooked but tasted good nevertheless. I would definitely come back again!

The shrimp batter was so hard, my hubby peeled the batter and ate the shrimp. By time I got home he had ate them already. Previously food was on point. Not going back there or referring friends there.Contacted the business and was told "our food is prepared fresh every morning". I believe that because my shrimp was hard as a rock at 3 pm.
