We were rolling around in the Garden District when we decided to go for some lunch. We saw the Red Dog, which is apparent hits new, and decided to give it a shot. From the outside it doesn't look like much but looks are deceiving. The place was clean, service was fantastic. Alex, our server, was fantastic and took great care of us. The drink came out quickly and well made: their Old Fashioned is the stuff of legends. We started with the crab and corn fritters that were maybe the best thing I've eaten in 10 years - with the garlic butter they were legitimately like heaven. My wife had a beet and arugula salad that she crushed. I had the prime rib French dip that was completely awesome- we were blown away with the quality of the good and service here. If you're in the Garden district definitely go here.

Not at all what I was hoping for. Went in based on the menus posted on yelp and just happened to be "out of everything". Ended up leaving without ordering a meal. Then Inwas visiting. Living here now, not again.

I was thrilled to find this place open on New Year's Day, usulally closed Wednesday I believe! But a great start to the new year. Service was excellent and the Crusted Crab & Egg Sardou was as good as the reviews said!

A must-try in the Garden District! I wish I could start every morning out like this. Setting: Right on the strip of stores in the Garden District, this beautiful restaurant is spacious and has ample seating.Service: Do expect a bit of a wait, ours was 20 mins long. The waitstaff were super kind and had great suggestions.Food: We ordered the frozen mimosa (fruity, sweet, bubbly), Joe Blow, and Chicken and Gravy Sandwich. All were delicious - and make sure to try their biscuits with strawberry jam!

Great stop for brunch! Loved the cozy inside with the wood interior. Service was welcoming and friendly. My husband and I shared a few dishes-Fried Green Tomatoes-crispy wedges of green tomatoes were fried to perfection and so sweet and juicy.Biscuits and Jam-buttery, fluffy biscuits served with housemade jams and butter. I really enjoyed both the peach and strawberry jams with the biscuits.Crusted Crab and Eggs Sardou-amazing and one of my favorite bites this trip! Jumbo lump crab meat, spinach au gratin, poached eggs and hollandaise over a puff pastry. Decadent, flavorful and delicious.Great stop for brunch!

Had the crusted crab and egg sardou. Was almost a perfect dish. They poached egg was on a spinach Au gratin, but to be honest it tasted more like spinach Madelaine with a hint of lemon. The crab was perfect too. Can't say enough about how good this dish was.

I had family in town from Colorado, and I am currently new to the area. We decided to come here and it did not disappoint! Everything was so unique, yet so flavorful and good. Inside the restaurant was cozy and had such intricate designs. Our server had a bunch of tables but worked hard to get us served in a good time. I would definitely recommend the Red Dog for a different diner experience like no other

This diner is small and cute. The food was delicious, our server was nice. The only complaint is we literally parked right next door and called to ask for the wait time (we have a newborn &2 older kids) and the young lady said "no wait time." We got out the car and got to the hostess stand within a minute and all of a sudden there was a 25-30 min wait. I addressed this with the host and she just smiled sarcastically and said it again. I don't appreciate lying to get customers in.

An unassuming casual eatery on Magazine Street, once inside you will find reclaimed wood throughout as a stylistic statement and an inviting atmosphere. They offer delicious sandwiches and pizzas! My roasted turkey club was amazing! It was chock full of roasted turkey in between yummy wheat focaccia, and adorned with gruyere cheese, tomato, red onion, fresh arugula and a dollop of tart cranberry relish. It came with perfectly seasoned crispy fries. Do not miss the boozy Sofia King Good Peachy Tea!

Best blueberry pancakes in town! We love coming here for breakfast/brunch and sitting at the counter to watch the expo staff work. My mother loved her pizza and the Joe blow never disappoints. It's located on a quaint little part of Magazine Street so you can dine and drink on the go. Definitely give it a try and try the pancakes and crab sardou.
