They do everything well and are consistent. The only gripe I have is that they use Leidenheimers bread. That bread is too chewy. Gendusa bread or Krummels bread is WAY better. Maybe take a tip from Jean Freaus and carry both types of bread, Leidenheimers for to go orders and Gendusa for dine in orders......Just sayin!!!‍

My husband and I visited during lunch time on a weekday. You order at the counter, get a number and find a table. All the tables were full during the lunch rush but we found a table. We ordered the eggplant sticks, I ordered a shrimp poboy, my husband ordered the veal Parmesan poboy and an order of fries. Even though the restaurant was full, our food came out within 10 minutes. Hot and fresh from the kitchen. Eggplant sticks were good with a tasty marinara sauce. My shrimp poboy was loaded with shrimp however the shrimp lacked seasoning and were bland. My husband said his poboy also needed more seasoning. Fries also needed a bit of salt. Portions were a great size for the price but overall all of our dishes lacked seasoning.

Had the pleasure of stopping by this staple of a gem for the first time while parents were in town visiting. We ordered onion rings, crab cake pasta, roast beef Po-Boy, soft shell crab special which comes with fried shrimp and a bowl of gumbo, and the hot burger which is a hot sausage patty and hamburger patty put together. All of our food was delicious. Especially the crab cakes. You can tell it's fresh crabmeat and not artificial. You have to place your order at counter and then they will bring to your table. Peak hours are definitely 12-1pm. We had to wait about 15 mins to get a table after someone got up. The gumbo did give me bubble guts afterwards so I won't get that again.

Pontchartrain Po Boys is a must if you are in the area. Best po boys anywhere around. My favorite is the shrimp po boy dressed. The shrimp are huge, and it is overstuffed every time. I'm also a sucker for desserts, and they have a ton of them. The service is very efficient, but they get very busy, so it's usually not a quick in and out place. It is very clean and well set up with lots of tables inside and even some outside. Don't pass this place up. It is definitely one of the best shrimp po boys I've ever had.

Great Gumbo and loaded po-boys on crispy French bread. Order at the window and it's delivered to your table. Lots of take out traffic.

Food is consistently good and the portion sizes are huge! The employees are attentive. This is a counter service restaurant with a drink station. There is indoor and outdoor seating- it is a great place that I highly recommend!

Overall, I would recommend this place for an occasional meal, but lately they seem to be sacrificing customer experience in favor of shoveling out tons of food faster. Most of their fried food is somewhat undercooked. If you request extra well done or crispy, they note it at the cash register but always completely ignore the request in the kitchen. Their food prices are on the high side, and they just raised the price of a soft drink to $3.25, which is ridiculous. I'm just not paying more than $3.00 for a soft drink, so I'll drink water from now on, which means I won't enjoy my meal quite as much, which means I'll go there less often, AND they won't make $2.50 profit on my soft drink. I find their portions to be very large and the prices too high. I would like the option of ordering a smaller portion at a lower price. The veal cutlet, for example, comes with four pieces of veal and a huge portion of macaroni and cheese for $18.00. Why not offer two pieces of veal and half the macaroni for $10.00? I would eat there five times as often. Not everyone can spend almost $25.00 a day on lunch.If you order something "on the side," there is an extra charge for it. I ordered mashed potatoes with the gravy on the side and was charged $2 more for it than if I had allowed them to put the gravy on the potatoes. Seriously?? This is ridiculous.After paying high prices for the meals, they consistently serve stale French bread as an accompaniment to them. I guess that's how they use up the old bread, and I guess they think we won't notice. May I suggest making bread pudding with it instead? Finally, they do not heat ANY of their poboys, which takes them from an 8 out of 10 to a 4 in my book. A poboy on cold French bread is just WRONG. Plus, the French bread is too chewy. Leidenheimer's is NOT the best bread for a poboy.I wish they would correct some of these issues.

I Ordered a very large order to go online and the order was ready when I got there, about 10 minutes. This was my first time to eat their food and was surprised at how large the portions were and how good it was. They literally did not skimp on anything. Highly recommend. I can eat large portions but could not finish their 12 inch roast beef Poboy. I ordered for four adults and five children. Everyone was more than pleased.I will go back often.
