Really enjoyed this weekday lunch. Have driven by so many times, and at times have totally missed it. Casual atmosphere inside with average crowd size and low noise level.Sara was our server. Friendly with a big smile. Made sure our drinks came out quickly & stayed full. Had honest answers when we asked questions. Fried okra appetizer was large, but the breading kept falling off, so we probably ate 1/3 of it and wasted the rest. I ordered the crab patty app for my entree, which had 3 of the largest, handmade patties I've ever seen. They were too much for one person, kind of overwhelming though tasty.The star of the lunch was the Sexy Pig po-boy with hot patty sausage and pepper jack cheese. The menu said grilled ham as well, but there was also pulled pork on it, and that pulled pork by itself had the most amazing smoked flavor I've ever tasted. Ever. It was also the most expensive po-boy we've ever purchased - $19.25, fries extra - but we'd do it again. Took the white chocolate bread pudding to go. Even a week later when I remembered it was in the refrigerator and reheated it, it was SO good.Moral of the story: skip the okra, bring a friend to help with the crab cakes, order the po-boy, and ask for Sara.

Close friend, recommended this place, and met us for a lunch. Good service and food was great. We are new to area, and are happy to know a good place,to eat out. They have a monthly calendar of their meals, so you can plan the lunches, you like!

Great, homey service from the second we walked in until we left. Great comfort food that I wanted to try for my visit to LA. Parking situation is a little meh otherwise perfect and exactly what I wanted/expected.

The shrimp plate was delectable and the service was incredible. Go get you some real great food and bring a friend!

Took the recommendation of several friends and tried Pepper on 23. Great atmosphere for a family dinner, which was clearly evident by the 3-4 families seated through the restaurant. I went in predetermined on the catfish plate and was not disappointed. The catfish was the freshest I think I've had from a restaurant. The corn fritters were so good I could have eaten my bodyweight in them!The only downside was that the serving staff practically treated me like a booger. I swear I showered before I left the house, so I'm not sure what happened. No drink refill and just a "how you doin?" As they walked past my table just left me with a feeing that I should carried my food out rather than dine in. Definitely a family sit-in. If you're solo, take it to go.

I went with a friend for lunch. We were the first customers. No one else just us. I noticed a little attitude from the waitress when I was talking to her but I figured she may be having a rough start to her day. We placed our orders. 15 minutes later more customers started to come in. 15 minutes later they brought the other customers food. They were half way through they're meal without a word about our food. I later asked her if I could have it to go, then she brought it 10 minutes later. I would never go back here.

A very expensive & disappointing experience. My family of 4 and I dined there this past Friday night. The fact there were no cars in the parking lot should have been more of a clue to us. The service was great, the appetizers were fantastic but the food itself was another story. We ordered the Pot Roast for my granddaughter & she said it was good. One daughter got the Fried Catfish and it was undercooked. The rest of us got the Hamburger Steaks and they were horrible! When we cut into them they were very pink and had a weird texture and after about 30-45 seconds the meat turned brown. My son-in-law brought it to the attention of the waitress, who stated the meals had been temperature checked before they were sent out and the meat was done. I beg to differ. When the bill came, it was close to $150.00 for food that was inedible! When we made it back to the hotel, everyone had stomach issues that lasted until the next day. If I could leave negative stars I most definitely would. Do yourself a favor and eat elsewhere!

A unassuming place that serves the best po boys in Belle Chase. It's all about the bread - a soft French bread is used, and it makes for a superb sandwich. Great service, clean, and fair prices. Cold beer, too. Will be back
