I ordered a king to be delivered on the Friday before the Super Bowl for a Super Bowl party. When it didn't arrive on Friday I called the store and was told she saw my order and the date on which I needed it but she didn't know why it had not gone out. UPS had picked up for the day so there was nothind she could do. No offer to Fed Ex it to me to make it right but she could get it to me next week. I've had problems with this place before but gave them another chance because I like that it is a small family owned company. I did get a cream cheese cake earlier in the season and was disappointed because the cream cheese was not a filling like the cakes from Randazzo's but was baked in.

Party Palace has apparently been around for 30+ years, but I'm just getting around to trying it so I'm a little late to the party (obvious pun intended). Since I started working in Kenner I kept hearing the buzz about Party Palace and how it was "just as good" as Randazzo's or Haydel's king cakes. I have to say they certainly do stack up to the competition. I am a traditional kinda gal and I loved the ribbons of cinnamon throughout the bread...the true mark of care and quality in a king cake in my opinion. I hate when its just plain bread with no flavor, but this was the opposite. The cake was topped with white icing and colored granulated sugar....the way it should be! The king cake was super fresh and dare I say it...moist. (chills, I know.) The building it very unassuming plopped in the middle of a random section of residential and warehouse type businesses. I guiltily used my GPS to get to there. I did not realize Veterans went past Loyola, guys! Apparently, they sell Party Palace king cakes in a lot of other places around the city so if you see the logo elsewhere, know that it has the mark of approval from the locals.

First thing you guys need to know is this place is far far out there. Its close to the new airport area. Its in the warehouse district, so you have to keep your eyes open or you will drive right past it. The service here was amazing. folks here were super nice and the price for king cakes was super affordable. Plain med: $13 and filled: $16. pretty decently priced. I do like the king cake but i felt it was undercooked just a bit. i know it was crunch-time for mardis-gras but at the same time, i think i would have enjoyed it more had it been cooked a bit longer. the cream cheese filling was ok. there was nothing special to the filling. it didn't have cinnamon laced inside like what i'm use to. theres a white icing on top with sprinkles, which i enjoyed. I was able to place my order over the phone and went to pick up my cakes with little time to wait. after the partying season is over, i want to try this place once more. this time, i hope it won't be rushed.

Wow! Party Palace appears to be an actual bricks & mortar store. I have never actually been there, but they sell they're very tasty King Cakes at local groceries around uptown. I've found them at both Langenstein's & Zara's. I've never gotten a stale one (occasionally the one I've ended up with has been sort of smushed, but that is probably the stores fault...although not anymore since this year I noticed boxes of king cake rather than bags.)One of my friends insists that the Party Palace King Cake is the first she has each year because she loves them so. Hunt one down, you won't be sorry.

I know this place has been around for a while, but they are my "new" favorite place for king cakes. They are on par with or better than Randazzo's. Well worth the drive to Kenner, and it is not far off the I-10 Loyola exit.

Yum!I had a big plan for this week's kingcake at work. I wanted to get a Cochon Butcher kingcake. They don't open until 10am though. So I made all my coworkers wait and drove out on my lunch break. Well, needless to say, they were sold out. So on the way back to work I stopped at Langenstien's grocery. They had a variety of kingcake's including several flavors from Party Palace. My coworkers and I were really impressed with the cheesecake version that I picked up. It was the most moist one I'd ever had!I deducted a star because the icing was a little too sweet. Maybe if they spread it more evenly over the cake it would balance out. Anyway, too bad Cochon Butcher, you didn't get my business.Instead I got a totally yummy unhyped up version.

I love these King cakes! I love Randazzo's, but I think these King cakes run very close to being as flavorful & delicious! Definitely must try them out!

Party Palace has become my new favorite king cake. Being from New Orleans I've had them all and it is by far my favorite. Not too sweet and very moist with a price you just can't beat.
