Outside of the typical fare you may find in the French Quarter, there is a wonderful Italian restaurant called Paladar 511 that is hip and modern, with nectarous cuisine that will linger on your palate for a good time afterward. The restaurant itself has both a ground floor where most of the dining tables are located with an open kitchen to watch the action and a wine cellar in the back. The mezzanine floor has a private dining area for parties that would like to have the space to themselves for fun and relaxed experiences. If you site at the bar, you get to experience watching the kitchen staff preparing all the meals, which is pretty cool. Cocktail-wise, I enjoyed the Bad Mr Jive that was rye-based with sweet vermouth, Amaro, and Apertif, which was more Manhattan themed with a twist. For dinner, I savored every bite of the pork saltimbocca that was glorious with the polenta, grilled broccolini, and capers. The marsala jus complimented so delightfully. It was one of my favorite meals in New Orleans.

The Picket Fences mocktail is great. And don't miss the Rye Parker House Rolls with the special butter. Yum.The Carpaccio with the raw beef and the cooked oysters is a don't miss as well.Pizza is a solid choice. The Angolotti was okay. The pasta itself is bland and needs more goat cheese inside and on top. I won't order this one again. They no longer have the graham cake so we didn't order dessert.

I recently had a great dinner with friends at Paladar 511. We went on a weekday evening and given the bustling atmosphere I could see why my friend made a reservation; I definitely recommend reserving a table to avoid a long wait. Service was attentive, and I appreciated how our server answered any menu questions that we have. We ended up sharing several small plates to start. The highlight of the appetizers was the squid ink spaghetti with its succulent shrimp, and the arancini was also tasty with its crunchy exterior. The beef tartare was mixed; I enjoyed the beef but the buckwheat crackers were a miss. I had the fish as my entree and thought it was expertly prepared. The cocktails I sampled were also a hit, with the Paladar Martini having a a great savory profile.

Nothing but great things to say about the food here. This spot seems like a local favorite. Many of the customers were chatting with the staff on a first name basis. Service was prompt with the food but there were times when our waitress passed us and should have offered to clear the table and bring the bill. It's a cute spot for an evening on the town.

My sister-in-law was in town and she picked the restaurant for us to go for brunch. I am so happy she did!! Our waiter was amazing I hate that I cannot remember his name now. I got an espresso martini with tequila and for my entree lamb sausage ragu. The entree was delicious!!! The humus was creamy the lamb was seasoned to perfection, the eggs added a little extra. This is a go to spot!! I know I'll be going back for the ragu and to try some dinner items!

I really really enjoyed Paladar 511! Everything we ate was delicious! The food was hot, tasty, and brought out quickly! I got a breakfast cake and tried the farm egg pizza! Soooo good! The drinks were amazing! The service was top tier. Our server was so kind and attentive , but other servers made sure to check on us as well. I love how bright and open the space is! I came for brunch which had a limited menu but I can't wait to return for dinner!

A diverse array of food options blending medleys from all walks of life. High ceilings and friendly staff make service next level. The ragu will change ya life. Herbs and seasoning wrap your taste buds up & ease up only to add more flavor from hummus and cooling mint. Pull up & stay Eatin! One of the best spots I've tried recently.

Still one of my favorite restaurants. Service is great and food is amazing. My favorite dishes here are the squid ink and beef carpaccio with fried oysters appetizers. The dirty martini is very good too. The restaurant is dark and moody.

Always a great experience here. Ambiance never fails, lowly lit, industrial interior, intimate vibe. Seasonal menu selections are always fresh, flavorful and creative. Personally prefer the wine selection over crafted cocktails. Cocktails have consistently been lackluster for me. Service is always on par and attentive. Truly a neighborhood staple!

They used to be very humble and customer friendly when they opened years ago. This restaurant has changed. Had a reservation for 6 on a Wednesday night. Out of town guest joined us last minute which made it 7. The hostess promptly and abruptly told us she would not seat 7, but could seat 5 and 2 could go sit at the bar. We had plenty of room to put a chair at end of our table but she insisted sitting us in the doorway, even though we politely asked to move to one of the other 2 open 6 seaters available away from the door. (it was 32 degrees) Also be aware they automatically add 20% gratuity to the bill. This 20% was in the total bill, not additional, then they taxed the total bill accordingly.Won't be back, used to love this place but there are so many options in nola just as good and more accomodating...
