New Orleans Ice Cream Company

A couple of years ago, I had the pleasure of visiting New Orleans. While I was there, I experienced some of the best ice cream I have ever had (Creole Creamery). Fast forward a few years, I am browsing an ice cream blog (theicecreaminformant.com), and come across a brand of ice cream called New Orleans Ice Cream Company. I had never heard of them before but their flavors seemed unique and I start craving a few of them. I was lucky enough to get my hands on some of it (Thank you, Adrian!) and started making my way through their flavors. New Orleans Ice Cream Company makes between16-20 different flavors of ice cream at any given time (They have some seasonal flavors). They stay local and make distinct New Orleans inspred flavors. Some of their flavors include, Cafe Au Lait & Beignets (Fantastic btw!), Coffee & Chicory, Creole Cream Cheese (Their most popular flavor), Ponchatoula Strawberry, Mardi Gras Pie, Praline Crunch etc. These ice cream pints are super premium ice creams which contain tons of flavor, great texture and the freshest ingredients they can get their hands on. It's not available in stores out here in AZ, yet, but if you want to get your hands on some of it, you can pick it up at icecreamsource.com. If you are an ice cream lover, you owe it to yourself to get a couple of pints. If you need a few suggestions, I would highly recommend the Cafe Au Lait & Beignets (Great coffee flavor, chewy donut pieces) , the Praline Crunch (Butter pecan tasting ice cream with candied pralines throughout) and the Baked Alaska (The owners favorite flavor which is packed with these crunchy meringue bits that are out of this world!). Any pint you choose, should be good. These guys are cranking out some of the best ice cream out there! I can't wait to make my way through the other pints that are sitting in my freezer. I have been extremely impressed so far and every pint I have tried, has been flat out delicious!

New Orleans Ice Cream Company has some pretty nifty local themed and often sourced flavors of premium ice cream. This brand can be a bit of a challenge to find and so far I have only seen it at local groceries like Rouse's, Zara's, Langenstein's, Dorignac's, Breaux Mart, Fresh Market, Winn-Dixie and Whole Foods. Their Po Boy Ice Cream sandwich is probably the finest ice cream sandwich I have ever had and I believe Parkway Bakery offers those also. I first tried their ice cream at a Yelp event and I have been a fan ever since. This stuff has to be really good to occasionally break me away from my normal Creole Creamery and Angelo Brocato's addiction.

Oh my god. This is the best ice creamI've ever had purchased from a store. The creole cream cheese is so incredible I'm addictedCan't wait to try the other flavors. Wish I could try them all. I got on their website and started drooling at all the unique flavors. They have the best base for their ice cream i can remember having. You could add cardboard to it and it would be your favorite. Just imagine the other flavors. Yum yum yum.

Absolutely LOVE the praline crunch-smells and tastes amazing like a bourbon butter pecan with praline..in fact-whenever I open it up from the freezer-my cat immediately seems to wake up from a nap to watch me eat it..wants some...not for kitties..sorry..aren't we lucky to be adults!?

Pretty good ice cream with some unique New Orleans flavors. I tried the coffee and chicory which was quite similar to other coffee ice cream I've had but slightly different. I can't really explain it, but I enjoyed it. Interesting that people I talked to in the French Quarter at various stores had never even heard of it... finally got some at Rouses.

Warning: This ice cream is addictive and I should know. Ten pounds in 3 months. I HAVE to grab a pint of the bananas foster daily. I am trying to wean myself off but so far.... no luck. This ice cream is sooo rich and creamy with delectable bits of bananas and hint of rum and of course the luscious stripes of caramel! An orgasmic experience! Another ice cream company out there recently put out their own version of bananas foster and I had to taste test. Coolhaus? Shame, shame, shame. Sorry excuse for a delectable ice cream. Now if I find an open meeting for New Orleans Ice Cream Anonymous somewhere.

My grandson, wife and I loved this ice cream! I accidentally order my grandson the Cookie Monster sundae but he never offered to share it with us (and he Isn't a big ice cream eater) but eventually allowed us a sample! It was best ever!!! So we went back the next night and my wife and I shared the Cookie Monster sundae. Just as great as the sample the previous night. So 2 of 3 nights in New Orleans we ate here. Wondering if they ship to Indiana???

I love their creamcheese icecream, i was in the city with my sisters and my friend and we all got hand grenades. You know how messed up you can get from them! So we decided to balance the tipsiness and stop for icecream. I know it sounds like a bad mixture but trust me it worked. We sampled a few flavors and settled on the cream cheese. It was so rich and creamy, we literally just stumbled into this place and im glad we did, now i want to go back but i wasnt sure how to get back to it. Now that i found it on yelp with the address i am able to go eat again! You wont be disappointed! Also they make their own ice cream so i believe its all homemade thats the best part about it.

I was really excited to try this ice cream. Unfortunately it was horrible. I got the bread pudding flavor. For one the ice cream was flavorless. There was no sauce swirled in the ice cream & there was about 4 small pieces of bread pudding & 3 tiny pieces of white chocolate. I'm so upset that I wasted my money on this product. I will not buy this again.
