Moms Mini Mart

I liked this place because it was right by our hotel and I just bought junk food and drinks here.Why the four stars - I noticed this is the place that sells the best priced Voo Doo Dolls!!!!People should come here to buy the novelty rather than going around the other stores that sells them for ridiculous prices.

Year round snoballs? They're not as good as Hansens or Plum st, but for the convenience, they're welcome in downtown. I got the kiddie size for $1. If you're from out of town, give it a try, maybe it'll convince you to head to other well renowned snoball stands.

One down side to living in the CBD is the lack of grocers. Mom's has a few things but the prices are HIGH! $4.00 loaf of bread, $4.50 box of crackers....I am glad they are there but I only go for emergencies.

WARNING!!! ZERO STARS!!! Thief in this place!! So I went into this mini mart because it's right next to my hotel to buy a few things, as I cash out I catch the cashier( tall BiG Heavy guy) trying to steal from me as he gave me my change. It was quick and barely noticeable but I always count my change and I noticed him take bill and placed it underneath the counter as he gave me the change. I called him on it immediately and his response to me was "calm down". This guy is a thief ! He probably does this all day with tourist. Don't go there and if you do watch him and count your change!! He is pretty fast with his hands and has this stealing method down very well.

Expensive with limited selection. Turkey sandwich was two pieces of white bread and a single slice of turkey. Not recommended.

My family and I were in New Orleans for Mardi Gras and was watching the Bacchus parade when my daughter starting feeling ill. With all the croud and noise around us we went into the store for some quiet and to rest. The store owner's son was a great blessing to us. We have for the past few years watched the parades in this same spot and after being taken care of so fabulously we will make this our spot every year.Thanks!!

It's helpful in a pinch, but beware. I went to get two containers of milk (they only had whole milk) and both were two days expired and very sour. I walked back to replace them, and they only had the same containers from the same package, all expired. He gave me my money back but clearly, they don't pay any attention to things like that. The man actually couldn't read the expiration date on the milk and had to ask me to confirm that they were all expired. I'm sure it's not an awful place but thought I'd let people know my experience.

This is a hidden jem! We were staying at a hotel right near moms and wanted shaved ice one more time before leaving fabulous NOLA. We headed to moms mini mart and my daughter got dill pickle and pink lemonade flavored shaved ice-good combo as I can remember!
