MeMe's Bar & Grille

I brought my mom here for a birthday dinner; it's her favorite restaurant in Chalmette. We came on a Thursday evening and it was not too busy. We were 1 of 4 tables. Food was delivered to our table very quickly but our entrees were a little bit cool. Our server was very attentive and friendly. The boudin egg rolls appetizer is so big, it is enough for 4! It was super crispy on the outside and the filling was delicious. The ribeye was good, but definitely could have been better if it was hot. The crabs entree came with delicious buttered potatoes. My favorite thing here was the cheesecake. It had caramel, whipped cream and was so creamy. It was a nice treat.

We'll definitely be back! We came to try the coolinary menu but we've already made a plan to come back for dinner, coolinary or not! The service was excellent, the atmosphere was cute for a dinner with friends or a romantic date night! Definitely our best coolinary experience for far!

Came with a group to try the $20 lunch deals. Considering inflation and ambiance at this restaurant, a 2-course meal for $20 is a good deal.Starting with ambiance. Is this a Commander's Palace or Arnaud's level place? No, but honestly, I don't expect to find anything like that in St. Bernard. The tables do have actual tablecloths though, and the lighting isn't business-bright, so it's definitely a step up in atmosphere/sophisticated feel from many local restaurants. The waitstaff also seemed a bit above average, patient and attentive.Now for the food. One of us loved oysters and hadn't had them in a while, so he skipped the special lunch menu in order to get an oyster appetizer and oyster entre; he said both were good. One of us got the lunch special with the Korean BBQ Steak Sandwich; she said the flavor was good, but was slightly disappointed at how the sandwich literally fell apart because the bread couldn't hold up to the juicy contents. The last two of us got the lobster bisque starter and the shrimp & grits. The bisque was poured tableside, which I thought was a nice touch. The sauce/gravy on the shrimp & grits had beer in it, which made for an unusual, excellent flavor.One other thing: do yourself a favor and park in the parking lot behind the restaurant. Parking in front isn't worth the hassle when there's an actual lot in the back.

Low key quiet environment outside of New Orleans. We were in the area as my daughter attended a Friendsgiving. Not typical to dine out the night before Thanksgiving but I'm glad we did. We had reservations so we were quickly greeted and seated. There was no shortage of great service from how quickly we received our water to the wine menu, to food suggestions. I totally forgot the name of my dish but it was amazing. It was a redfish I believe topped with a creek crawfish sauce, lump crabmeat that was also over fried green tomatoes. The bbq oysters were a new try and they were pretty good. We ordered a 1/2 dozen the was surprisingly presented with a dozen. Needless to say we ate them all. We left and headed out to pick up my daughter but realized she wasn't quite ready when we went to pick her up so we returned back to sit at the bar and have a cocktail and dessert. I had another glass of wine with the brownie and ice cream, small portion which was roughly $4. Perfect size and perfectly priced enough for us to share and enjoy 2-3 bites each. If in the area again, I'll definitely stop in. We enjoyed the food, service, and environment.

We ordered takeout from this restaurant and was really happy with our decision!We ordered the pork chop and they zest a pasta. Both were amazing but the star of the show was the sweet potatoes. They were the perfect amount of sweetness with the perfect consistency!Great spot!

Finally I got the opportunity to try this bar and grill! It's very lowkey, perfect for date night. I'm really impressed with the quality of the food and drink. I had Bacon and Blue Cheese oysters that were so so good! The veal cutlets were mid but not enough to ruin the review!the staff was very sweet and attentive!

Made another trip to MeMe's, this time for their new brunch. Started off with the combination oysters, and while they were all delicious, the chargrilled were BY FAR, the best we ever had. I added the smoked pheasant gumbo and wedge salad, while my beloved had the chicken fried steak and eggs. A perfect Bloody Mary tied everything together and attentive staff made the great, even greater. Stop sleeping on this place!

Great place to dine on a business trip. Tuesday night not busy at all - good food and fair ambiance. Filet and oysters dinner did not disappoint- Caymus wine perfect pairing. Minus the star - did not clean table between course... small detail. Manager no type of table touching - waiter was on point ! Excellent service.

MeMe's blackened our red fish and served it with fresh homemade sides for dinner. The chargrilled oysters were scrumptious and the service was impeccable.
