I placed an order last week for a chocolate birthday cake frosted in vanilla butter cream... I was concerned with it being Mardi Gras week that they may not be able to take the order but I was assured they would... I picked up the cake on Monday and we ate it Tuesday...The cake was amazing, so fresh and delicious... Everyone said it was the BEST chocolate cake they ever had... The vanilla buttercream was perfect as well... Looking forward to returning to Maurice's soon!!'

This is really an authentic French bakery, and they were really good job. I was kind of disappointed with the French style king cake. It basically had no flavor and very little cream inside.

Walked in to a nice display of French pastries. Wanted to see if we could order drinks but they only had coffee in the carafe and an out of order Coke vending machine. We wanted to sit in and eat our pastries because we didn't think they'd hold up in the heat in the car.Got a couple of Napoleon's, an éclair, a fruit tart and a strawberry shortcake. All was delicious and the fruit tasted so fresh. The facility is really set up for production and they must cater to businesses and special orders. Would definitely visit again.

A friend of mine had a Pontilly king cake for her birthday and I was obsessed! It was a chantilly king cake with this delicious whipped icing in the middle and strawberries! Chef kiss! So, for my birthday I said I wanted to get one as well but when I went online I saw they had different flavors so I ended up trying "general foster" which is a banana foster king cake. I called and ask if they could change the toppings to saints colors because I was having a watch party and they said they could. Everything was really simple to order and pick up. The cake was a HIT! Everyone at my party has been asking me where I got the cake and saying they want to get one for their next event. I'll definitely be back

I am crazy about Maurice's pastries. I am off of all sugar currently so I can't go get anything there. I am looking forward to being able to do that again sometime soon. Anything I've ever gotten there is the best. I am always greeted with courtesy and enjoy seeing their case full of pastries and there huge kitchen. It's a small and cozy place to enjoy coffee and a pastry or piece of cake.

Got a cake for my grandmas 82nd birthday. They clearly tried to put a smaller cake on top of a larger cake and hide it with icing. However this caused the cake to fall with the slightest movement. Really disappointing

I ordered a 6" cake and was really disappointed by the lack of actual cake in the order. I was disappointed and discussed this with someone in the bakery and they explained that they only cook one cake round and then cut it in half to make a cake, and that this is their normal work product. I gave it 2 instead of 1 star because she said per order you can request more cake for no extra charge. The actual taste and flavor was fine. not bad but nothing special. Basically spent $50 on 1 cake layer and 4 or so inches of icing. I was just disappointed (which I voiced in email/phone conversation) and they explained this is how they operate. Not what I was expecting.

Maurice's is the best French Pastry bakery in the City. I know because I worked at a Deli that was in Jax Brewery and the Deli sold Maurice's pasteries for at least 10 years.
