Maria's in Bogalusa, LA, is like finding a hidden gem that transports you to a Mexican oasis. The ambiance is reminiscent of a tranquil spot in the Yucatán, complete with margaritas that are as fresh and flavorful as they come.While the food offers a taste of authenticity, there's room for improvement. My taco salad was a flavorful mix, but the beef was over-salted, and the cheese felt too bulky. The absence of sour cream detracted from the overall taste. The Havana Rancheros, although satisfactory, seemed overwhelmed by the sauce, and the meat was, again, too salty.Service-wise, the experience was a mixed bag. Our waitress visited our table four times, and on two of those occasions, we had to summon her for drink refills. While her presence was not as frequent as one might expect, when called upon, she attended to our needs.In conclusion, Maria's offers a delightful setting and a promising menu that could truly shine with some culinary tweaks and more attentive service. It's a place worth visiting for the atmosphere alone, and with a few adjustments, it could become a go-to spot for both locals and visitors alike.

I've been here twice while visiting The Bog and my friend recommended. We sat in the back bar area and enjoyed NBA on tv and the ambiance. I ordered a Bohemia cerveza since I usually can't find those at most places. I've heard the margaritas here are great too.Prices here are very reasonable.Next time I'll request my combo items be separated into their own plates. I'm not a fan of different Tex-Mex foods melting into each other on the same plate but delicious none-the-less.

This place does not even deserve one star but I had to give it something. The food has absolutely no taste at all none I had to ask a lady to take it off of my ticket when I tell you, the ground meat was tasteless. When I tell you water has more taste then their tacos I mean it. The staff is rude and the owner is the worst. Her attitude is worst then the food. A lot of people in there, drunk talking loud I guess that's how you have to be to be able to enjoy the food. Stay away from this place. It is a waste of money because when you leave there you're going somewhere else to get food you can actually enjoy.

To start the food was not great... the service was worse. I brought my dog in, she's a well mannered 2.5lb Pomeranian ... they came an complained several times that she couldn't eat off the plate I was eating from.. she couldn't be on the floor but could be on a chair.. and the ambiance was so dull and poor feeling. Low light, could barely hear the Hispanic music and it was HOT in there as if the A/C was off.

Slow death by Queso.... On everything. As local in town Mexican food goes, it's a slight improvement over Tacobell.

I always order their chicken and cheese nachos and they never disappoint! Friendly service and the salsa is amazing. Sometimes the sweet tea can be a little too sweet but everything else is fantastic!

Maria's has amazing salsa. I enjoy their chicken fajita salad. I also recently discovered their appetizer platter so yummy! My husband loves their sizzling fajita!

I'm here now. 30 minutes and service has been terrible I Just want to order my food. A napkin and silverware would be nice too. Hope the food is better than the service.

By far the best margaritas in town! That salsa is to die for and the enchiladas with thE ranchero sauce are the best!!

TRASH. My family of 6 looked forward to having mexican all together. But this was not it, to say that food was mexican is a disgrace. The chips were cooked in old oil. My mothers carne asada was rubbery and tasted sour. My meal was supposed to have chicken but instead i was served a brown mystery meat??? I asked about the meat and she said it was chicken. We sent back 2 plates within 4 minutes of getting our food and the waitress did not take it off our ticket. WORST IVE EVER HAD. not 1 out of 6 of family members ate at least half of their food. And we still had to pay over $100 for the worst food that nun of us ate. our meal should've been free. if i wanted to eat out of the dumpster i would've gone to mcdonald's but mcdonald's is better then whatever Maria's is. Praying for all the people eating in that place.
