This place serves some of the largest helpings of Italian food. I ordered meatball and spaghetti and it was enormous. I took half home for another meal. I'll be going to the Mandina's on Canal to give it a try.

Mandina's used to be one of favorites. Their calamari USED TO BE delish. We ordered it today, and it is out of a frozen bad. Tasteless. The steak special was half fat and grissle. Will not be going back It's sad.

Located in a strip mall, there is plenty of parking. It is pretty easy to find. I came with a couple of coworkers as we like to get together for dinner every once in a while. We walk in and are quickly seated and asked what beverages we wanted. All three of us ordered appetizers and only two of them were brought out. The wings were good but only mildly tangy, not really spicy. The dip was bland. We never got the fried ravioli, but that is probably for the best and we did not get charged for it. One of my coworkers got the fried fish plate and came no where close to finishing it. The other got the steak and also came no where close to finishing it. I got the pasta and shrimp and my stomach started revolting before we were done. The total price was reasonable, and they were quick on the drink refills. Everything inside seemed clean and well laid out. I am not sure I will be back.

Had a luncheon here for 10 ladies. The table was set. The waitress was adorable and very efficient. The food in the lunch menu came out hot and delicious and everyone was served together! Only problem was the floors were soooo sticky. My shoes kept getting stuck. Yuck. They need to refinish the floors!!!

This place is a mixed bag. Some things are really good, like the Ceasar salad and French bread (although there is WAY too much butter on the bread). There is something terribly wrong with the water, and no matter how many complaints they get, they never correct it. Seriously, I have NEVER tasted nasty water like this. They should take Trout Meunier off of their menu. It is supposed to be sauteed in butter. Instead, it comes soaked in brown gravy -- like you'd get on a roast beef poboy. The grilled chicken is often rubbery and is a very small portion for $7 extra on a salad. The lasagna tasted good, but it was literally one layer. I've never seen it like that anywhere else.Chicken Piccata was very good.They have great potential, but they really should address a few issues.

The Fried Ravioli was delicious! Caesar salad and the garlic bread for starters was all good. I got the Veal Picata and my husband got the Parmesan. We both came home with half of our meal. Very tasty.

I travel 3 weeks per month. Eat out 30+ times per month. Sunday, we were looking for a place to eat and Mandina's was open so we went. She had a caeser with shrimp and I had grilled chicken with potatoes and green beans. Her salad was okay. My chicken could not had been more than 4oz of tough meat, green beans were out the can and potatoes were just boiled in what I presume was crab boil. Each had one drink. Total was $62.00 with tip. What?? For THAT? First and last meal there. The server sis a great job, however.

Great appetizers and service here, was truly amazing! Drinks came on time as well! Main courses were not too good, I believe they are using worse ingredients. Veal was chewy and seemed like it was out of a can! Burger and chicken park poboy was sub par!
