Just moved to the Northshore area and looked up pizza and found Mama D's. Word on the street is you can get a Muffaletta Pizza if you ask! I was intrigued! Mama D's is definitely one of those places that would be described as "a hole in the wall." I'm usually a fan and think most of the time these joints have some great food. Mama D's doesn't have the greatest decor and some might argue she could use a little upkeep but I think she has some natural beauty from her years of experience. We met some fun, lovely ladies who work there! They all seemed thrilled to meet us and have us try out the pizza. The best on the Northshore according to the ladies who work there. I haven't had a chance to to try much pizza on the Northshore but this is damn good pizza! We ordered the Hawaiian and the Muffaletta, The Hawaiian is very good and it's unique because they include some green peppers. The pieces of pineapple are huge! And to all of you who turn up your nose at pineapple on pizza, you're just wrong. It's fabulous! While the Hawaiian is very good, the Muffaletta is where it's at, my fellow Yelpers! They include plenty of the ingredients. OMG! The mounds of olives! Yes!!! Their crust is really divine! Not chewy but this sort of perfect buttery, crispy crust. A great texture. The pizzas are a nice size and plenty for 2-4 ppl depending on how hungry you are when you dig in. We will definitely be back to Mama D's for the pizza and the incredibly nice employees! What a pleasure it is to find them so quickly! Thank you ladies for the warm welcome!

This was our first time ordering from here. The kids wanted to try this little place in Abita. It was a great little family place to order from. This was a Doordashed item, so I can't say what the interior is like, but the food was great. It wasn't too fancy, or too plain. Everything tasted great and was still hot when it arrived. Definitely worth a try.

For the second time in a row this small pizzeria has not started my order until I walked in at the time it was supposed to be ready for pickup. Both times sending me away to come back again and never offering a discount or even an apology. Unfortunately I cannot continue to support a business that does not cater to its loyal customers. I hope they get their act together but I won't be back for a while.

We have been going here for about 20 years since my kids were small ,it's always wonderful ! Sweet lil mom and pop spot in Abita . Everything is great ! Pizza and sandwiches are my go to . Spinach dip is wonderful never tried anything I didn't love . Our fav spot and you can get your pizza uncut on to go if you are doing to go .

Pizza was great service was great. We used to live in slidell and eat here every so often. Food was always great. Moved back to New Orleans and had not been here in about 15 years. Moved back to north shore and came back for some of the best pizza around by far. Love this place
