It's a run down, small grocery with a kitchen in the back. Every time I go, there is an abuela in the back with one spatula. She makes FANTASTIC pupusas. I've never tried it, but I see a lot of others get the fried fish and it looks amazing. I wish she made baleadas, but that would probably be too perfect. You probably don't need to know any spanish, but it helps.

A good friend of mine introduced me to this little gem when I was staying nearby for Mardi Gras. From the outside, you wouldn't think much of it. A broken sign, front windows nearly covered with smaller signs, perhaps a bit off-putting to some. But once inside, the familiar sight of a small Latin grocery relaxes you a bit. On the counter, a tray of steaming chicken tamales made the whole place smell far better than an air freshener could ever hope to. I'm told they only have these sometimes, though, and they will vary them with pork or other ingredients. The grocery shelves are standard for this type of establishment, perhaps a bit lacking as it is smaller than most. In the back is an incredible little kitchen with fresh-made Honduran and Latin foods. Enticed, the two of us each ordered a baleada con todos - think of it as the Honduran version of a breakfast burrito. It was HUGE and so delicious. The two of them, two ice cold (real) cokes and a tamale to go because we were so full cost a mere $12. Now you may be saying that that's no big deal, these little places are almost always cheap with amazing food. You'd be right to an extent, but the thing that set this place apart from the others was the customer service. The women working here were SO FUCKING NICE! It's hard to understand, having lived in the south all my life, that southern hospitality can be so easily outdone. These people were so polite, friendly, and helpful that we paid extra because $12 just did not feel like enough. I absolutely recommend anyone to go here for some great food and service, though it would probably help if you speak a little Spanish.

This is by far my favorite Spanish restaurant I go to every week if not every couple of days. The people in here are so nice and welcoming every time I come here. The food is to die for and the papusas are outstanding. My favorite is the steak with onions and tomatoes served with rice and avocado...wow...just wow. Stop going to that other place you go to and come here...now..:)
