I recently dined at Lanes Chicken in Franklinton, LA, and was impressed with the crispy, juicy, and flavorful chicken. Unfortunately, the French fries lacked crispiness and seemed to be cooked in rancid grease, making them and even the chicken taste somewhat burnt or overcooked. The biscuit with honey, however, was very moist and tasty. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the ambiance was warm and inviting. Overall, the food was good, and I'd give it another shot. I'd strongly suggest changing the grease at least weekly to ensure fresh, delicious chicken every time.

Food is great service was wonderful! The chicken was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Fantastic!

Growing up in my hometown, we had a chicken place called Danny's Fried Chicken which made some really good food. Chicken fried to near perfection, good sides and who can forget the greasy roll?? Unfortunately, it closed in the mid-2000s and by that time we only had Popeyes as the only place that would serve up fried bird, but with very mixed results. Years ago, Lane's opened up with good word of mouth and every time I came home I never got a chance to check them out....until now.Luckily for me, they have drive-thru which is safe and very convenient. The first takeout order I had was a 2-piece combo (white meat) with fries and a biscuit. The chicken and fries were cooked very well, and honey biscuit tasted really good. But there was a problem: instead of a breast, they gave me a large thigh. It was good, but somehow, they mistook it for white meat. For the 2nd takeout visit, I had my girlfriend with me to check them out after I convinced her that ordering Popeyes was a no-go. This time around, I ordered the 4-piece tender combo with a side of red beans and rice (she had the 2-piece dark combo with sweet potato fries). This time around, the meal was much better. The tenders were sort of spicy but pretty good. And the red beans and rice....very, very good. You can tell they were homemade. And my girlfriend really enjoyed her meal.I am glad for this place to be in my hometown that's local instead of franchised. When I come back for the holidays, I'll definitely stop by again.

Local chicken oriented restaurant in Franklinton.There are not many non-chain restaurants to choose from in Franklinton. We came upon Lane's during our lunch break. The smell upon walking in is absolutely divine.You walk up the counter to place your order. They have a variety of fried chicken combinations, burgers, etc. You can make it a combo and get a side and drink.I had the tender basket with sweet potatoe fries and a biscuit. I usually don't eat fried food but the tenders were good. The biscuit was delicious and I probably could have eaten a whole dozen.The staff was very friendly.They do take credit cards.

Went here awhile back and ordered several different things off the menu for myself and family, most of it tasted like frozen food that they just tossed in a fryer. My family and I weren't impressed- I do not recommend this restaurant.

Passing thru Franklinton for work, and hungry so I decided to stop by because I had a taste for fish! Keep in mind it's lunch time! I tried calling and I was placed on a very long hold...so I decided to pull up see if I could just order and the young lady said their window is for pick up only! Bummer right! So I Called back attempting to order and I'm placed on hold again! At this point I'm frustrated, about to really give up on it! I must of really wanted some fish, because I held on this time and I was able to place an order finally! I got my order and it was just ok! Not fresh gulf coast catfish! The cashier did apologize for the wait, and explained their short staffed and she's working the window phones and dining area... wow really!

Not a chain! Friendly, family-owned, not so fast, but a lot tastier than Popeye's. The fish is legit as is the red beans & rice and for that matter the biscuit, sweet potato fries, fried okea, and fried shrimp. Everything is freshly fried. I came in skeptical, left a fan.

This was my first time eating here and it will not be my last. The customer service is superb and the food is also . I definitely recommend this place. Tammie

Nice friendly place. They were out of regular fries but they did have sweet potato fries and I gave them a try. They were delicious. I had the shrimp and fish basket and it was good too.
