Kilwins Ice Cream - Chocolate - Fudge

Randomly stopped by this spot after taking the jazz cruise. It smelled delicious. I tried to flavors but ended up going with the apple pie one and it literally tasted like an apple price in an icecream. Place was clean and service was good.

It's decent ice cream, unique flavors. My favorite is the salted caramel and apple pie when they have it. It's extremely overpriced though. The staff is constantly changing due to inconsistent management. I worked here a few years ago and I will say things were kept pretty clean and organized but again, it depends on who is working. The service can friendly, but it really depends. The treats are delicious and made fresh, by demand. They are rotated and restocked in a way that the oldest ones are the ones they grab first so if you want the freshest one, asked specifically for one from the back. The coffee is not worth the money, it's outsourced, pre-packed espresso pods. Just head next door to Cafe Beignet. Overall, if you've never been, try it out. But it's a place I would frequent.

This is disappointing I've come 4x and the last 2 I have gotten moldy strawberries. The first time it happened I hoped it was just maybe someone was a new employee or just maybe it was because it was close to the end of the day. But it sucks when you come just for chocolate covered strawberries and it turns out bad.I hope they start doing better quality control.It's happened in august and October

To say I have a sweet tooth is an understatement.. this coming from a girl in grade store who sold her lunch so she could buy candy. This is a candy and ice cream store. Would have loved to try the ice cream but it was just too darn cold so will save for another trip. We went twice to this store for caramel apples. While we were there they were making a lot of caramel goodies. We also got some old fashion lemon drops. The price was steep on those but they were delicious. Also, they will cut your apples as well. Such a great place located at the edge of the Quarter.

Hot chocolate was amazing on a cold day and the dark chocolate krispie was pretty good. Service was weird- I think I interacted with like 4 people and they all seemed confused. I kept getting shuffled to the next person to place my hot chocolate order, someone else to get the dessert and then another person to finally pay.

Michigan based Kilwins was established in 1947. Now a franchise, there are 146 locations in 25 states. However, there isn't any on the West Coast, which is why I haven't heard of it. I passed by the shop and the intoxicating aroma of delicious chocolate lured me in. The store has a clean aesthetic, and the display case is filled with handmade chocolates, fudge, candy apples, & pralines. The shelves are lined with prepacked sweet treats to take home. They also have ice cream, and the waffle cones are made fresh to order. There is a tantalizing assortment of flavors to choose from. Employees will happily give you samples of ice cream & fudge. Believe me - I wanted to try them all! I eventually decided on the New Orleans Praline Pecan. Kilwins prides itself on friendly customer service and the gentleman behind the counter exuded Southern hospitality and absolutely made my day. (I think his name was Ace. He worked the counter in the evening on June 25th.) I enjoyed my ice cream on my walk home. It was creamy, delicious, & delightful. It had a buttery rich flavor and the right amount of pecans, which added a nice crunch. I'm looking forward to coming back and trying some of their other goodies.

Went in to get some pralines. All seemed okay for a candy shop. It was bright and cleaned. Of course the fruit flies were there. I also overheard a worker mention an issue with them. The issue for us came when we were waiting to leave an a rat just came in like he lived there or something. . So we just left and threw away our pralines. I get the doors were wide open and it is New Orleans but it still was a huge turn off for us.

It was later evening, hot, and we were on the hunt for ice cream to cool down.Enter Kilwins.Kilwins has a variety of ice cream, candy, caramel apples, and other delightful confections. But, as I mentioned we were there for ice cream.I loved seeing Mackinac Island Fudge ice cream on the menu so far from the midwest. I ended up ordering a scoop of chocolate peanut butter and a scoop of sea salt chocolate caramel in a cup. Both were terrific.The shop itself is daring, squeaky clean, and brimming with sweet treats.The service (even with us being there close to closing) was lovely.Get to it!

I followed the really good smell inside and was not disappointed!! This has the best ice cream!! I love the chocolate brownie ice cream --- strong chocolate flavor, not too sweet, and overall delicious. Portions are really generous here; I got a kid's cone and it was a pretty large scoop.
