Being that we were at a conference, we were given a recommendation to eat at this truck, best food in town. So out we went and walked right up. We ordered the Shrimp and rice basket. The food came out very quickly, the shrimp were done just right, with a wonderful breading. Our good was out in just about 5 minutes. Now this is a food truck, so talking about the ambiance and where to site, well is really up to you. This day, there was a bit of rain and sprinkles happening, even though there were some trees there at site, we decided to go inside and enjoy our food. The food didn't disappoint, and if you ever have the opportunity to come and eat here, this is a great choice.

To call this mac & cheese is an insult to mac & cheese. Please know that what you will be served is the cheapest, most flavorless BOXED mac & cheese with some real cheese shreds sprinkled over the top. It was completely disrespectful. The fish was not seasoned flavorfully--just very salty and very greasy. Two thumbs down. Please do better.

Lafreniere Park is hosting "Lunch in Lafreniere Park" on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 11A-2P, in March and April. Follow them on Facebook for times and vendors! I had some time off today and decided to beat this tornado watch to enjoy one of the vendors scheduled. I found Kenny's big red truck two parking lots past Copeland's Meadow coming from the park's Veterans entrance, right past the fountains and parked near Plum Street Snoballs. I came at the last hour it was going on and was very excited to see that he fulfilled his promise on social media to come "rain or shine!" Kenny's Cajun & Creole Cuisine delivers just that. Great local food favorites! On the menu there is a good variety from chicken, fish, shrimp, burgers, pulled pork, and smoked sausage, with additional hot sausage, oyster, and taco specials. I think he did tacos since it was Taco Tuesday! He mentioned to me that he serves a lot of the hospitals downtown. Since it is a food truck, the best way to find them is through their instagram @kennyscajuncreole_onthegeaux. I did see them frequent the line up for Lunch in Lafreniere Park so they more than likely will be back! They are also available for catering.I did a quick scope on the menu the day prior but made my final decision when I came up to the window and peppered Kenny with questions. "What's comes on that? Ok then I'll decide on this. What comes with that? I'll take this." I decided on Buffalo Wings, Mac & Cheese as a side, and it came with a drink so of course I chose a Sprite! He was very friendly and engaging and kept the conversation going while my food was being prepared. I mentioned that I portion my food smaller now so I don't indulge on big meals so he retorted, "well this is going to take you all day to eat!" I told him that I'll eat it all and I hadn't had anything all day in anticipation, but he was not kidding! If you are truly visiting his food truck during a lunch break you will clock back in FULL. My favorite part was when he presented the plate to me to confirm I got the correct order. Since it was so windy I had to go to my car to eat instead of a nearby bench. I got 5 huge, fresh, juicy wings, compartmentalized neatly in foil. Coincidentally I got more flats which I love but the drums had so much meat on them! If you prefer your wings spicy and on the vinegary side you will love these. In hindsight I wish I would have asked for ranch or something to dip them in, and he has plenty of sauces available! Now the Mac & Cheese didn't look like a lot tucked under everything else but it was a generous helping that took up half the plate! I was shoveling bites into my face! It was small macaroni with a mild cheddar taste topped with more shredded cheese, and paired well with the hot wings. I truly had to put some to the side to eat for later. As far as other sides I took a peek at the Cajun Fried Rice which is tossed in Cajun spices without meat (which is good for halal or lent) and it looked so tasty. It also came with a crusty, buttered slice of Texas Toast. Great well rounded meal with amazing value that won't disappoint if you are working and need a piping hot meal. So hot I had to take my sweater off!I definitely hope to run into Kenny's truck in the future and try other items and specials! He was so kind and brings a great energy to the truck!

I work downtown and I seen this truck this morning and it caught my attention. I kept seeing people with TO-GO boxes with food and they were saying nothing but, great things about the food on this truck. Myself and co-worker decided to go and let me just say "WOW"....we definitely got our $'s worth with the plates we got. I had the "PHILLY CAJUN"....absolutely delicious sandwich and I destroyed it in a matter of minutes . I'll definitely recommend them to anyone that sees them or goes to their truck..thank y'all again for great/delicious food..GOD BLESS

Typical NOLA food outside of work? Yep I'm trying it. The shrimp poboy was OK. The bread was too soft for me (more like a roll than french bread) and there wasn't enough lettuce/tom/pickle for me. My friend got the burger and loved it though. The fries are really good. They tend to be near the medical campuses a couple of times per week. They don't seem to really post on their FB page or anywhere else as to where they'll be on any given day. So you just have to happen upon them I guess. The owners are super nice.

My experience at this food truck is what prompted me to join Yelp. I like to eat out and try new restaurants, and I rely on Yelp to help filter the good from the bad, but I've never written a review myself...until now.Where do I start? Ah, yes, at the beginning. I visited the monthly food truck fair at Champions Square across from the Superdome on last Friday. There were about 10 vendors and I was drawn to this truck because of the menu. There were several fried seafood dishes, but I opted for the hamburger. It came with fries and drink for $10. Upon receiving the order, I started to have doubts about it being a good experience because the to-go container was very light. The hamburger patty was small and thin and lacked salt. The only thing I could taste was rosemary. The French fries were crispy, but not piping hot and, again, lacked salt. Hamburgers and fries NEED salt. That's just kind of basic. I also didn't care for the lettuce, which I found bitter. Lastly, my drink was lukewarm. It was obvious they had just put the drinks under ice. On the brighter side, service was fast and friendly, but I won't be back.

I was craving a poboy all day! Wanted to get one in the convention food court but it closed early! Luckily Mr. Kenny's Cajun was right outside the entrance! Baybeee I had a fried chicken po boy.. chefs kiss!! It was so loaded with chicken and flavor... I was full and still pushed the whole sandwich down! 5 stars.. and not to mention top notch customer service.. this was a nice hidden gem to stumble upon. Get that chipotle sauce on your poboy.. you won't regret it! #SupportBlackBusiness!

Got the pulled pork, but instead of bread, got it over fries. It was AMAZING! They are NOT stingy with the food! There was so much that I had a difficult time holding the container closed. I will ABSOLUTELY eat there again!
