Juneau's Sandwich Shop

This place is amazing. From Baton Rouge, we took our grandma on the Westbank here during our visit. The place has that old school feel, stepping inside is like stepping back in time. Everything was delicious. I got their fried shrimp po-boy...plenty of shrimp on it and the bread is the best po-boy bread I've never had. Their onion rings are also good, and my dad said their catfish po-boy was also good. The service was fantastic, the ladies that run it are sweet and accommodating. The owner was very friendly, spoke with us at the table about the history of the establishment and even gave us a weenie po-boy for free, splitting it into seven for all of us to taste. Their weenie po-boy has been around for a long time, and while I personally wasn't a huge fan of it, it was nice tasting a little slice of history. The owner even took a picture of us and put us on Facebook. I would easily come back here again. A classic New Orleans experience!Update: this update is 17 days later. This is sad news, but my grandma, the one we took here, just passed away today. She died peacefully. This lunch was the last memory I had with her. When she was younger, she used to order shrimp poboys and eat just the shrimp because it was healthier than eating it with the bread, and she would order a Barq's root beer. I'm so grateful that our last memory with her was surrounded by family doing exactly that with her, and that the people from this restaurant treated her like gold. All I can say is thank you, Juneau's, for making the last outing with my grandmother a good one. Definitely go here, the service is great.

Whenever I try a new location known for its Poboys, I always order the Fried Shrimp Poboy, fully dressed. Juneau's 10" was perfectly executed and tasted wonderful. I wasn't disappointed! My co-worker, who is new to the area, couldn't resist trying the original French Fry Poboy with gravy. He loved it!The service was awesome. It felt like you were at someone's home, sitting in their kitchen/dining area, and engaging in casual conversation. In fact, this restaurant is located in a house, which makes it all the better!I'll be eating here again, next time I'm in Gretna!

Love this place been going there since I was in middle school way back in the 80s move to Slidell love going there when I get a chance to come back to the Westbank usually is closed on the weekend because I work during the weekdays

Favorite place on the Westbank to have lunch. I come at least 3 times a week. Food is always fresh and staff is friendly!!!

Addicted to the chicken salad poboy. I normally never ever eat chicken salad anywhere. I make my own and I don't really eat much of it. The roast beef was very very good. And of course the ham was good. My least favorite maybe was the shrimp po-boy but if I'd put a little drop of ketchup I might have even liked it better. I sampled from their catering menu. They're bread is nice and soft and not chewy. I really can't say enough about this place
