Joe Gambino's Bakery

This is not a review for the bakery itself, but for their king cakes. I ordered a king cake from Gambino's through Gold Belly and it was delicious.Self-decorating supplies came with the cake, which is a wonderful project for kids, but for someone who has a busy work and life schedule, I prefer my king cake pre-decorated. It was quite yummy nonetheless and arrived well packed and on time.

Stopped and grabbed a king cake a couple days ago, I went with traditional flavoring and OMG it was the most flavorful/ freshest cake I've had. I know everyone has their preferences but this one was so tasty and I think it was the freshness. I always just grab them in the grocery stores and I think I'm converting- go grab it from the bakery whatever bakery you choose - the freshness is unmatched! Sorry I didn't grab a photo!! I got it home and dug right in! So much for my waistline!

Bought my first Gambino's Christmas king cake and "WOW" It was amazingly delicious!! It was super moist and the icing was creamy and tasty. Everyone at work loved it. I've had their petit fours and they are amazing as well.

My King Cake arrived weeks early though I asked for it to arrive just in advance of Mardi Gras. There was no storage info / expiration date on it and it was fully wrapped, so I left it to wait for the holiday. However, I looked at it earlier this week and it was completely full of mold. I sent an email asking for a replacement and did not receive a response. I then followed up a day or so late asking for a refund still with no response a day later. I usually order my King Cakes elsewhere, but wanted to try these guys as I heard their cakes are good. I am disappointed that my family did not get to try it.

I'm absolutely obsessed with Gambino's and have been ordering their King Cakes to be delivered to Texas for 7+ years now. I order for my birthday and Super Bowl party to introduce to many friends that aren't familiar with King Cake, and it is UNIVERSALLY loved. In recent years, I have opted in for the Bavarian Cream filling. I don't have a problem with how the non-filled cakes arrive, but every time I have an issue with how the filled cakes arrive - smushed in one side of the box & broken. They should mark for extra careful handling or that the box contains perishable or something because I feel that this problem could be easily solved.

Just got my 1st of the season and 1 bite in and got the baby. I have never got it. It was a glob of strawberry and a piece of pastry on counter and I. My mouth and there it was. These are awesome cakes

I ordered the two-pack king cake bundle. The order was promptly acknowledged, prepared and shipped to Texas, where I live. The cakes didn't arrive on the scheduled date and the shipping company said it had no update on when it would arrive. I contacted Gambino's customer service which checked and promptly assured me the cakes would still be fresh when they arrived. They arrived on the new due date. One was perfect and the other was broken in pieces. When I informed the baker they offered to send me a replacement. I turned them down but was later surprised to find they had issued a credit for the broken cake. I have nothing but praise for this company. They are the epitome of what customer service is about. Their cakes are great and I will be ordering again.

Beyond disappointed! I was so excited to open my king cake--only to find this mess inside. I also ordered one from Haydel's Bakery for comparison. Needless to say, Haydel's wins in taste, delivery, and attention to detail.

We moved from NOLA years ago, but every time we come back to visit we stop at Gambino's. It's either for a Doberge cake, petite fours, shoe soles, or just anything. Love this store.
