I'm not a local or from New Orleans but in my honest opinion, Joe Gambino's is the only place to buy your King Cake. These cakes are outta this world. What is a King Cake you might ask? Pure, amazing bliss baked with love, that is what it is. During Mardi Gras season in the South, you can get King Cake coffee, ice cream, smoothies, candles, hand lotion, fudge, cookies - basically anything can be King Cake'd. It is basically the pumpkin spice of the region (and so much better).I love me some King Cake during Mardi Gras season and before I went back to Minnesota, I knew I had to get my hands on some. And screw a slice, I wanted a whole damn cake. When we pulled into the parking lot, my life couldn't believe how giddy I was. It was like we just pulled into Disney World for me, a world filled with delicious King Cake. I didn't know these cakes came in so many flavor combinations?! How could I possibly choose? I decided to get two to get myself out of the store. I settled on an original (for comparison purposes, of course) and an almond filled one. The almond cake was hefty, felt like 8 lbs. of goodness! And yes, these cakes lived up to the hype. My family and friends had a slice each morning and it lasted us about 3 days for each one. I was honestly contemplating getting more to take home with me. Yes, you can order these online and get them shipped and I have flirted with the idea. I probably will this next season because I can't get enough of King Cake. If you are wondering why I am so in love with King Cake and you have never tried Joe Gambino's King Cake, now you know what you are missing in life. Do your life a favor and get yourself one (or let's be honest here - stock up and save some $$ - you will eat it all of it with pure joy anyways, I guarantee it). Man, now I want a slice of King Cake...

Absolutely the worst experience I've ever had with a company. I ordered a king cake, and not only did it arrive late, but it also came in a regular cardboard box with zero insulation or temperature control. This wouldn't be as big of a deal if it didn't contain cream cheese--which, for obvious reasons, should not be sitting at room temperature for hours, let alone however long it took to get to me.To make matters worse, their so-called "three-day freshness window" is a joke. My cake arrived on the last possible day, meaning I had less than 24 hours to eat it before it was technically "expired." But let's be real--I wasn't about to risk food poisoning for a $60 cake that showed up warm.When I called customer service, I was met with nothing but rudeness and indifference. Their response? Too bad, so sad. They basically told me it arrived "on time," so I should just eat it anyway. Oh, sure--let me just ignore basic food safety and hope for the best! The lack of care, professionalism, and basic customer service was appalling.I wasted $60 on a cake I refuse to touch, and this company couldn't care less. Save your money and order from literally anywhere else.

Loved every bike of their king cake. Get the praline cheesecake filling you won't be disappointed. You can get it delivered as well. It's really really sweet. If you like real sweet even when it's in the box you can smell New Orleans which is a good thing. Give it a try

Though based out of New Orleans, fear not, you can still get their King Cakes and baked goods via Fed Ex overnight delivery. They suggest you eat the King Cakes within 2 days of delivery and it should not be put in the fridge. ***They offer Doberge, Red Velvet, Petit Fours, Italian Olive Salad, Carrot Cake, King Cakes plus a whole slew of items on their online store. When you order the King Cake they also give you instructions on how to decorate it. It's great for gifts and special occasions.
