Jo-Bob's Gas & Grill

Stopped in yesterday (a Friday) because I had a fried chicken itch that needed scratching. And Jo-Bob's was the solution!Really tasty batter; not too thick, but not tempura-like either. Just right: Crispy, thin, & tasty. Maybe a little corn meal in there? I dunno.... Side order of potato wedges were, um... "ok." Not something I'd make a special trip to go back for.Also grabbed an order of boudin balls. I'm a big fan of boudin and these were heavenly! Lightly battered with the same goop as the chicken, then fried until crispy, hot, steamy, and exploding with savory goodness. DELICIOUS! (So much so that now I'm thinking of going back for some RIGHT NOW!)Here's something that was weird: They have a few dozen different chicken menu options; dinners, platters, ala carte, etc... One menu offered "all-white" as an option. I asked the clerk if a two-piece was a wing and a breast, or what. She answered, "We only do all-white on Sundays because that's when we cook the breasts." Uh, ok... wait... what? I mentioned that the sign on the door (two signs, actually) said they are closed on Sundays. She replied that they were, in fact, open seven days a week.So I can't promise you that you can get white-meat fried chicken; I can't promise you can get it on Sunday. But I can promise you will love it because it's REALLY good!

Great food and service! One of my favorite places to eat when I'm down here. The chicken, burgers, and Jo bobs sauce are a few of my favs.

The shrimp Poboy was awesome, the fries were a little too salty for me but once I wiped the salt off, they were fine. My husband liked the roast beef Poboy, & said it would have been perfect for him if the bread was toasted. We called in our order and it was ready in no time. We will definitely be back!

Best fried chicken on the island! It's a gas station but once you get past that then you should be able to find something you like ;-)

The staff was so kind and friendly I wanted to stay and buy them lunch! What a fantastic experience during a stressful Fourth of July weekend. I highly recommend a po boy from Jo Bobs if you find yourself on Grand Isle. There are lots of places to grab food once your in town, but you need to stop here. Sure, most of their offerings are fried but you can walk the island for a bit and ignore the method of your delicious choice. I love the idea of fully dressed po boy sandwiches bringing in a bit of lettuce and tomato to counter my side order of tater tots. It was almost a whole salad on my sandwich and that brought me joy. Jo Bobs was the best stop during the holiday weekend because it didn't feel hectic or rushed even though there were plenty of locals and vacationers there. The police officer grabbing an energy drink even took a moment to deep breathe and consider lunch with a smile.

Good burger. Was nice. Really damn good. I had the bbq swiss burger and it was super tasty. Good place for a good burger and a slush puppy

Excellent Cheese Burger on French and perfect fries. Definitely recommend whenever you are in Grand Isle.

Delicious pizza & fast, friendly service. Better than restaurant quality. Highly recommend Jo-Bob's!

STAY AWAY !! This place is a scam!! Got the jo bob burger said no pickle or lettuce. They gave me a burger with pickles and lettuce all over it went back 3 times they could never get it right and owner kicks me out refusing to give back money or burger saying "he will spend my money wisely ". Also they have been doubling prices on food and other items to make more off the workers out there from the storm! By far the worst place I have ever been.
