Hooks Seafood & Poboys

Hooks seafood has proven itself to be a top-notch restaurant in the New Orleans area. I highly recommend anyone to go and eat there. Their food is delicious and you get a lot for your $$$$

Was craving a poboy so I decided to give this place a try as it is on my way to my mom's house. I got my order to go. It is a small place, so ai cannot comment on dine in but it was very clean and modern. I ordered the 6 in shrimp poboy with fries. I took about 7 minutes and that is fine because the shrimp were fresh hot and crunchy and the fries were hot and crisp. Shrimp are nice sized too and the batter was tasty. The bread is the perfect blend of soft and crisp like a real poboy should be. I am really enjoying my poboy right now and would definitely order here again.

The food was great. Considering it took 10 minutes for the drive alone to get to my hotel, the catfish & fried okra held up well. It was still a bit crunchy & not oily at all. I like the flavor of the potato salad. It was tangy & sweet, just the way I like it. I'm not sure if it was the catfish or okra, maybe both, has a bit of spicy bite in it. Love it!

Have been ordering from Hooks since they first opened. The food was always high quality. I understand the higher prices are due to Covid. That doesn't surprise or bother me. This time the quality of food was sub standard at best. Ordered the fried catfish poboy, large catfish dinner, fried mushrooms and mozzarella sticks yesterday. It was the greasiest catfish, fries and mushrooms I've ever seen even after working for over thirty years in the food and beverage industry! ! The paper lining underneath the fried food was swimming in in grease! The cheese sticks weren't greasy but were as hard as a rock! Would have returned the entire order I f I hadn't had a biopsy yesterday morning. It's the reason I chose to order from what was once my favorite neighborhood restaurant. I'll never order from them again. This isn't the Hooks it used to be!

When you look at the place, you won't expect the quality of food that comes out of it. This is the "don't judge a book, by its cover", portion of life's lessons.Delicious, fresh, and friendly customer service, even more notable, as it was late in the evening, lol.

I just ordered here and my order was $62.16. My bank text me alerts and they charged me $74.59. I talked to someone and they told me it must have been my bank but I shopped at 2 different places right before and those places did not overcharge. They did not try to remy the problem. Be aware when you come here.

I definitely will be returning. Dine in is a joke, but food is good. Customer service was just a good as the food. Very friendly. Would recommend for take out.
