Love this place get there for 11am get the fresh chicken out the fryer and they will drop your fries too everything will be fresh and hot. There is no mild chicken all chicken is spice but not overly spicy. We get the four piece mixed combo with the fries and drink around 17.00 if you go when they first open everything will be fresh for best results.Service is good and very fast!

Well I'm on a mission to find some fried chicken that could be remotely close to Willie Mae's chicken since they are out of business here in New Orleans. Unfortunately, I still haven't found it. However, this fried chicken is still legit. It checks almost all of the boxes of crave-able fried chicken. It won't bring a tear to your eye and you probably won't necessarily dream about it when you travel back to your destination (clears throat to Willie Mae's ). But it's good. It's crunchy, spicy and juicy. You don't have to go out of your way to try it but if you're in the area, it's not a bad option. I would say it's Popeyes adjacent for a decent price. I got a 3 piece mixed (breast, wing, drumstick) with a biscuit for seven dollars and some change. Hope this helps :)

Food is great and service is quick. Pretty small on the inside but most of their business is takeout. Only complaint is that their prices have gone up a lot since opening, but what hasn't. Their chicken tenders are HUGE and taste great.

The service was great to everybody was friendly. This is a wonderful little hole in the wall southern pride, chicken place to eat my husband has never been to Louisiana so we asked around to a couple locals for the best style chicken that was Louisiana flavor. And this is the place that we were recommended. .Now the food that we had, the chicken had amazing flavor and the outer shoveled the chicken was amazing. I'm not one who likes coleslaw and their coleslaw was wonderful. I had the right amount of sweetness and tartness. And we also had mashed potatoes and those were good.

This is a small hole-in-the-wall mom and pop shop right on Jeff. Hwy. They are cheap, fast, and serve fresh tasty food! One thing I LOVED about this shop is that it was extremely clean. The counters were clean, the walls were clean, the floors were clean, the cooking area was clean... everything was clean! The staff were friendly, and you could see them hard at work as they bring giant trays of breaded chicken to fry up right in front of you.The food is very reasonably priced with good portions. Their fried chicken, biscuits and side (red beans and rice) were yummy.I love cheap, tasty eats that leave you full!

Not many fried chicken spots in the city so I was happy to stumble across this one. Your good is cooked to order and I really appreciated that knowing some places could care less.

Service is fast! The food is great too! The onion rings were excellent and I really enjoyed the crunchiness, yet somewhat flakiness, of the batter for the fried shrimp. It wasn't doughy and the batter didn't fall off easily. The shrimp was fresh. Oh and the fried okra was nicely done too.

I consider myself well versed in the art of eating and judging fried chicken. My Yelp moniker used to be the "enfant terrible" of fried chicken. I try to eat fried chicken at least every other week and try to sample from as many different places as I can find. There are no rules about where I'm willing to eat fried chicken. I do not shrink from gas station fried chicken. In fact, I look forward to it and have visited gas pump diners from here to Shreveport. Calling me a fried chicken aficionado would be an understatement. I first heard about Highway Fried Chicken a couple of years ago and tried it shortly after it opened. I found the chicken delicious but a little too spicy for me. So I didn't go back, but decided today that I would give it another shot. I will say that the chicken is absolutely awesome. In fact, I'm not sure that there's a better fried chicken in New Orleans although of course that's a matter of opinion. It is still, however, a little too spicy for me. Some people are a little more sensitive than others to the heat of cayenne pepper, and I'm one of them. I wish the chicken were a little less spicy, but it is not going to keep me from coming back. This chicken has tremendous flavor, the salt content is perfect, and the skin/batter is very crunchy and delicious. The service is friendly and outstanding. Highway Fried Chicken is definitely a 5 star fried chicken.PS Not sure why Yelp has this categorized as American, Seafood, Chicken Wings. Not really accurate though it does serve seafood.
