We thoroughly enjoyed our first visit at Green Olives. The owner greeted our table before she left, our server was sweet, and our food was so good. We got the lentil soup, chicken shawarma plate, and shrimp plate with baba ghanoush instead of hummus. We, of course, munched on the complimentary pita bread which I delighted in dipping into the garlic spread as much as the delicious baba ghanoush. The chicken and shrimp were well seasoned. The rice was cooked perfectly. The lentil soup was tasty. We will definitely be back.

Randomly stopped here today and were happy that we did! The food was delicious and the server was welcoming and attentive. We had the chicken shawarma sandwich, hummus side (comes with pita bread), and the appetizer grape leaves filled with meat and rice (comes with tzatziki). We enjoyed everything, it was all fresh, and will definitely stop back in when in the area. Everything was also reasonably priced. Will be back to try the baklava that we forgot to order.

Came back to Green Olives cafe for a quick bite because I remembered they had amazing hummus and the grape leaves are excellent. But then I tried the labneh! Highly recommend the appetizer platter to taste everything! But if you must only have one, pick the labneh!

If you find yourself in the mood for Middle Eastern food and Mediterranean food near Tulane and Loyola Universities then Green Olives Cafe might meet your craving. I've been to previous Middle Eastern joints in this spot over the years but this is my first visit to Green Olives Cafe. For my first experience here I went with the combo kebab platter with sides of hummus & labneh and I found it to be quite good. For my beverage I went with a mint tea which was also quite satisfactory. I've been here several times for lunch. Never crowded. Fast service. Food is high quality and consistent. Nice atmosphere and is clean. Parking is on the street and not difficult. Highly recommended.

Is Green Olives Cafe the perfect lunch spot Uptown? Maybe.I love the friendly vibe of this place. I was welcomed enthusiastically as soon as I walked in and I had already heard great things about the food, so I couldn't wait to dig in.I was here for lunch and I got the shawarma wrap with a side of hummus. We were craving Mediterranean today, and this happened to be really close to school. I am happy we chose this place. I got the chicken shwarma plate with hummus and rice. It also comes with pita. My bf ordered the beef shawarma sandwich, and turkish coffee. The service was fast and nice. The building itself was literally beautiful, and it was nice eating with a view!
